He had a perfect head
Maybe that’s why he was bald
More importantly though
By God he was called
Called to be a prophet
And sent to Northern Israel
And like his predecessor
He did very well
He followed his master
From the time they met
And whatever his master had
He wanted to get
He served him faithfully
Always keeping him in sight
And receiving a double portion
Was his special delight
He saw his master depart
In a chariot of fire
And catching his falling mantle
He became his successor
His ministry was accompanied
By signs and miracles
To demonstrate God’s intention
For an idolatrous people
His message was as strong
As the one he succeeded
Like the prophet before him
He too was committed
