Lifetime Learning

Lifelong Learning – The Ongoing Pursuit of Knowledge – Katherine Reilly

Live going forward

And learn from the back,

Don’t dwell on the past

And what that past lacked.

The past can hinder

What the future can achieve

If in the present

You refuse to believe.

Undoing is impossible,

What is passed is passed,

Don’t burn your bridges

And stay on task.

Lifetime learning

Must be always the goal,

Journey one step at a time

Move from pole to pole.

Put God first

In all that you do,

Search His life manual

To find all that is true.

Plan for the long term

But walk in increments

And maximize the learning

Of your life’s events.

Observe life’s balance

And the tensions at play,

Do not overdo or underdo

Take it day by day!

Make some things happen

Do not just wait

And make a positive input

Regarding your fate.

Fate does play a part

Yes, I believe this is true

But I also do believe

There is much one can do.

We can shape the future

By the ongoing present

Through our acting decisively

And not mere intent.

How to understand searcher intent and use it to boost SEO rankings

Intent is in the mind

But if that’s all intent is

It will not make a difference

To our well-to-do list.

The road to failure

Is strewn with good intent

And with armchair critics

That entered no events.

Lifetime learning

Is about learning to forgive

And very often too,

To live and let live.

Give good counsel

But don’t live another’s life

For such is truly impossible

And causes more strife.

Disputes of the past!

Don’t let them eat you out

But do what you possibly can

For a positive turn-about.

Be contented where you are

With a view to move on

And once opportunities arise

Press on!  Press on!

God’s Foreknowledge

THE FOREKNOWLEDGE OF GOD |

Did you always know

What you now know?

If every iota of it

Please show!

Do you now know

What you will know?

Well, if you already do,

How is this so?

Foreknowledge is knowing

Past, present and future,

Every iota of it:

The total picture.

Not just a part of it

But the entire volume,

Very unlike any human being

Who must assume.

So, I ask again,

Did you always know

What you now know?

Please show!

Do you now know

All you will ever know?

Well, if you already do

How is this so?

But God does:

Both future and past

And He is the only one

In His unique class.

The unit set

They would say in Math:

The only one to be found

In such a class.

This is not dumb!

Someone has to be

And He has to be omnipotent

To create all we see.

Infinite knowledge

With wisdom to boot

With never ever an occasion

To utter, “Oh, shoot!”

A mild admission

Something is wrong

But with the Almighty God

This does not belong.

God's Foreknowledge & Man's Free Will As Seen From A Compatibilist's Point Of View – Thinking It Out & Thinking It Through

Not a single mistake

Has God ever made,

It is beings with choice

That always have failed.

Lucifer in heaven

Adam and Eve on earth,

Both yearning to satisfy

Their lustful thirst.

But God is love

And love permits choice,

That is, to obey or disobey

The lover’s voice.

Love is not withheld

By what can happen

And neither was God’s love

When Satan threatened.

Ten Bible Verses that Delineate the Foreknowledge of God

God knows

What He always knew,

Nothing is hidden from Him

All’s within His view.

So, if you know

What you always knew

Then you would have to be God-

That’s a logical view.

But only God knows

What He always knew,

Therefore, let all men be liars

And let God be true.

No knowledge

Outside of God’s knowledge,

Foreknowledge in a narrow sense

Is God-given knowledge.

The Future

Future is now on billboard stock illustration. Illustration of direction - 113217369

Anything left for the future

Is never ever done,

The reason is pretty simple

The future never ever comes.

I am sure you understand

For experience has taught us that,

Whenever we got around to it

It was a present act.

The future is procrastination

And procrastination is a trap,

How can we say tomorrow

When we don’t know about that?

There is a place for promises

Promises of a certain sort

But things that can be done today

In the future they will abort.

As it relates to routine

Some things we can expect,

However, even in such cases

We sometimes experience regret.

The promise of a child

When the evidence is clear

Is a future expectation

That grows as the time gets near.

The promise of a salary

At the end of the month

Even though we work towards it

Becomes a routine triumph.

A future promise is not guaranteed

Unless it’s a promise from God,

Satan offers alluring promises

But he is a shameless fraud.

The Bible gives a caution

Relating to the future,

The uncertainty of tomorrow

Being its principal feature.

Why Is It So Hard to Plan for the Future? | Psychology Today Ireland

Whereas ye know not what

Shall be on the morrow,

Even one’s life is not guaranteed

For life is like a vapour.

For a little more on this matter

Go to the 4th chapter of James,

Do not be like the foolish farmer

Who stood on future claims.

“I will pull down my barns,” he said,

“And I will build them greater.

I will feed my soul on such bounty.”

Oh, he could not be happier!

He neither considered God

Nor the unpredictability of the future,

God required his soul that night

And he was bound for his sepulchre.

Any promise that God has made

Will certainly come to pass

As long as it is not conditional

On someone to perform a task.

The coming of the Lord:

That is a futuristic certainty,

We can bank on that as the saying goes

For in that lies our destiny.

Concerning the coming judgment

That too is a futuristic fact,

Remember the future is in God’s hand

And we can be sure of that.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow | Insight for Living Canada

“Trust no future, how e’er pleasant!”

Mr. Longfellow said,

“Act, act in the living present

Heart within, and God o’er head!

The future is not reality

I know that sounds quite funny

But it’s a fact we had better grasp

And reject the current folly.

Que Sera Sera

What will be will be
It must be so,
What must be must be
Who are we to know?

It is its own evidence
It’s a historic fact
And that the fact occurred
We can’t change that

But “what-if” so an so
Is good for argument
But “what-if” did not occur
“What-if” is no event.

If “what-if” could happen
History would change
And most of what we know
We would rearrange.

I would go and undo
The things I have done
And my race would differ
From the one I have run.

A loved one that’s passed
I would bring back
And by using a “what-if”
That would be a fact.

But that can’t happen
For what will be will be,
Thank God Almighty
The future we cannot see.

For had we seen the future
What would we have done?
We would run the same
As we have run.

Prophecy changes nothing
It just states the fact,
The future becomes history
And we can’t change that.

What will be will be
Why can’t we see that?
The future must happen
History records that fact.

But the consolation is
We cannot see the future,
None but God does;
He sees the entire picture.

His Word admonishes
That we make the choice
Of taking Jesus as Saviour
And listening to his voice.

Some things will happen
The Bible is clear
But the born again child of God
Has no need to fear.

For prophecy is history
That is written down,
God doesn’t make it happen
It will come around.

The last verse is critical
Please understand
God does not do evil,
The future is not His plan.

Look the Bible through
And you will see
God has always countered evil
As shown in history.

What will be will be
That is very true
But you still have a choice:
There is something you can do.

It’s a choice for eternal life
And you can do it today,
Take Jesus as your Saviour
And follow in his way.

For you can’t change the future-
That you cannot do,
But if you take Jesus
God will change you.

What will be will be
Need not concern me,
I have taken Jesus as Saviour
And he is my destiny.

All of History is Present before God

Image result for Images of all of history

All of earth’s history lies bare before Almighty God,
Its past, its present, its future is expressed in His Holy Word,
He who was in the beginning is still the Great I AM,
He who was crucified to save us was no ordinary man.

I once use to think a man could die before his time,
I held to that and argue; this was how I opined
But then it occurred to me if this was possibly true
The Bible, God’s Word couldn’t give an exact preview.

Image result for images of history
It records the times of man from beginning to the end
Thousands of years of history and into the future extend,
Not billions of years as misguided scientists report
But only thousands of years as the Bible clearly purports.

Let’s examine the idea that all of History is written
And that from the Great I AM not one iota is hidden;
He who was in the beginning did not then begin
But was before the beginning and only created it then.

Now for this to happen there must have been eternity
And an eternal being too to create such a possibility,
For where else could the beginning have originated
Outside an eternal God and the time that He created?

Clearly time is a segment with a beginning and an end,
It doesn’t take rocket science such a position to defend,
This is where the Bible premised its record of History
As the Eternal God created this timeline way out in eternity.

Why should it be a wonder that He knows it all in detail?
Why should we marvel as though hearing a fairy tale?
How could it all begin with no one to start its process?
Surely there must be someone to withstand time’s greatest test.

Image result for images of six digit clock showing all zeros
God is that someone that stands the test of all time,
Yes, He is that someone that started time’s clock to unwind,
It has been ticking away thousands not billions of years
And the future of its history doesn’t catch Him unawares.

So then if before Almighty God all history is revealed
This means its past, present and future already is a done deal,
Having been written already how can it be rearranged?
Even Pilate confessed what he wrote could not be changed.

Pilate was following History even if he did not know,
Remember Jesus told the Baptist suffer it to be so,
Jesus went through Samaria; he knew the course of time,
He was in the beginning; he knew its rhythm and rhyme.

Then, how could this God create a person to be damned?
Did He not know the destiny that awaited that woman or man?
O yes he did, for He knows the destiny of everyone
For while history is unfolding to us to Him it is already gone.

How for example could God change what has already passed?
For Almighty God even such would be an impossible task,
For what is written is written and all that is known to Him
And should he change the past that would be a horrid sin.

That would impede man’s choice that God has given freely
And in a real sense too subtract from God’s sovereignty,
For within these two realities is a balance as delicate as ever
And to change the course of time one or both would be severed.

What would He do in Eden when both our fore parents sinned?
Would he reverse the event?  That would be foreign to Him.
What then would be the sequel?  Would Jesus still have come?
Would we still have had the choice to be a part of His Kingdom?

Image result for Images of all of history
And what about Hitler and the like of tyrannical attitude?
Would God expunge from our mind these unscrupulous dudes?
What about Noah’s ministry with not a single convert?
Would God change all that so that the flood he could avert?

You would notice in Isaiah that a future event was written
In the past tense, as if the Saviour already had been smitten,
He was wounded and was bruised and for us all was stricken
Yet at the time of Isaiah’s writing God’s Son had not yet been given.

The authenticity of God’s word is sealed in prophetic utterance,
What it says will come to pass in spite of men’s defiance,
For the promises of God are yea and His decrees are very sure,
Heaven and earth will pass away but His word stands forevermore,

All history has been written with man’s choices and his faults,
It’s more secure than an impregnable bank with its money vault,
It cannot be altered for God has no such intention,
All of history has been set from the beginning of creation.

So that we are not making History we are simply in its grip,
Every act and accomplishment forms a part of the chronicled trip.
We may feel we changed our mind and perhaps we really did
But regarding altering History’s course that’s what God forbids.

I hear you say, “This is fatalism for what will be will be
And it really doesn’t matter since I have no say in my destiny.”
That’s not entirely true, as a matter of fact, not even partly so
For in God’s word, the Bible, we’re told all we need to know.

Image result for Images of a sower went forth to sow
A sower went forth to sow and he sowed indiscriminately,
The seed was scattered near and far with random diversity,
Just like the seed from that sower the Gospel is so designed
For everyone everywhere to hear, that means all of human kind.

For the Word of God declared that the Gospel shall be preached
In Judea and Samaria and until the ends of the earth are reached
So that every man that hears will be left without excuse
Particularly so when such a man treats God’s word as refuse.

He that does not believe is already condemned
Because he believes not on him whom the Father did send,
So that it really does matter for if today you hear His voice
Harden not your heart but earnestly make Him your choice.

For choice is the God-given say that we now have in this matter
Hell or Heaven our destiny and we should choose the latter,
For while it is true that in God’s eye all of History is written
The Bible also declares he who calls on the Lord will be forgiven.

All of earth’s history lies bare before Almighty God,
Its past, its present, its future is expressed in His Holy Word,
He who was in the beginning is still the Great I AM,
He who rejects the Saviour will be eternally damned.
