Topsy Turvy World

 

 

In a topsy turvy world

Where madness is sanity

How do the sane actually survive

In a pseudo reality?

 

And if atheism is true

And everything else is a lie

Then matter is all that matters,

Oh me, oh my!

 

Where, tell me, is up

And which way is down

And how can we say differently

And neither is wrong?

 

I can transition

But I cannot change back

Even though anything goes

And nothing is a fact.

 

A topsy turvy world

Is as good as any name

Where there is moral relativism

Thus, no blame.

 

Accept my gender

Once I tell you I am that

And never mind how I look,

Treat it as a fact.

 

 

 

Remember, I have the right

To be whatever I feel,

So, don’t you dare oppose me

Just simply yield.

 

All that matters is matter

Hate-speech is a no-no,

It’s not your worry what I am

Just agree it’s so.

 

To some this is not much

To others, quite a lot,

But there are irregularities

I hope you spot.

 

Atheism is one of them

Materialism is another,

Scientism is a scientific stretch

Monism is a bother.

 

Nothing before life

And nothing thereafter,

There is no slave and no servant

And definitely no master.

 

No God to overrule

No creator or creatures,

The right to do whatever I like-

Absolutely no standards.

 

 

Ecclesiastes 9 verse 3

Is an appropriate summary,

And how to avoid this inevitability

Is beyond you or me.

 

It will come to one and all

Both great and small

And none will escape its frigid bite

No, none at all.

 

Death is of a truth

It’s as real as real can be,

It’s a gateway to another world

Awaiting you and me.

 

Nothing before life

And nothing thereafter

Is nothing more than a satanic lie

Full of tragic laughter.

 

Laughing oneself to death

That’s what I mean,

What a topsy turvy world it is!

What a hopeless scene!

A theist and atheist

 

 

A theist and atheist

Were having a conversation,

They argued backwards and forwards

In their fierce opposition.

 

Somewhat as in Parliament,

Argument after argument

Contending who’s wrong or right

With purpose and intent.

 

Now look at the two

And tell me what you see,

There is but one alarming distinction

As how it seems to me.

 

A theist and atheist:

Why, they are almost alike

But in between the ‘a’ and ‘t’

One is showing more light.

 

This should be expected

Since this one points to God,

Theos, as I recall in my little Greek,

To me says it all.

 

Seven distinct letters!

Not one is even repeated

But the idea of the Lighted One

Has the other defeated.

 

In the beginning God,

It’s God who created light,

Outside of Him is utter darkness

How can atheists be right?

 

 

 

It’s a matter of matter

Atheists want us to believe,

No Theos is their assumption

Pseudo-science their reprieve.

 

But as reprieve suggests,

It’s only temporary

For when the light bulb lights up

It all points to the Almighty.

 

Matter explains everything:

So claims the atheist,

No God and no superior mind

But this I must resist.

 

A theist and atheist

On paper might look alike

But one of them is full of darkness

And one is full of light.

 

 

 

Recall the words of Jesus

Who said, “I am the light.”

How can a materialist or atheist

Even be considered right?

 

In the beginning

Matter came from nothing

And after matter was settled

It gave us everything.

 

High fives for matter

For then nothing matters,

To you and me it doesn’t matter

If we too came from matter.

 

From matter we came

Of matter we’ll always be,

No God to reverentially fear

And no accountability.

 

Reminds me of a jingle

We used to say at school,

Of course, in most of us back then

Was a little fool,

 

“No more Latin

And no more French,

No more sitting on St. Giles’ hard bench,

When de teacher ring de bell

Tek up yuh books and run like hell.”

 

This came at the end

Of every school term

And this was the vacation time

For which all of us yearned.

 

“No more Latin

If there is no Theos

And thus, no accountability,

Then let’s live however we please

Without restraint or worry.

 

For today we live

And tomorrow we die

And if I live the way I live today,

Who’s to ask the reason why?

 

 

A theist and atheist

Are infinite poles apart,

The atheist sets store by matter

And matter has no heart.

 

Theists on the other hand

Believe in intelligent design

And so, beyond the material realm

Is an intelligent mind.

 

First cause of every cause

Including that of matter,

A theist makes abundant sense

Atheist is empty chatter.

Mind and Matter

 

Which came first

Mind or matter

And what are your reasons

For the former or latter?

 

Mind is immaterial

This you would expect

However, matter is material,

This you won’t reject.

 

In agreement up to now

Both you and me,

Let’s dig in a little deeper

And see what we can see.

 

Matter has no mind

This is a known fact,

The mind can ponder a matter

But matter is just that.

 

Matter has an origin

But not so the mind,

Mind transcends matter

And even time.

 

It would have to be

If you see what I mean

And this is why I set store

By the Genesis theme.

 

 

In the beginning God,

The eternal mind,

First cause of everything

Even time.

 

The power of mind

That is the mind of God

Is the origin of all matter

And I mean all.

 

There’s nothing new

Under the sun,

A sentiment of the wisest man,

Namely Solomon.

 

“Let us make man”

A concept of a mind,

Not of matter, my friend

And not of time.

 

 

Time is a major factor

In the theory of evolution,

After billions of years

Matter came to fruition.

 

A misguided concept

That pertains to nothing

And that tells you and me

Nothing is something.

 

Nothing is something

And something is matter

And this is probably why

Some chose the latter.

 

Mind or matter?

Matter edges in front,

Surely this is the conceptualizing

Of the mind of a dunce.

 

 

 

Without mind

Matter won’t matter

For how else could we tell

That matter is matter?

 

Mind came first

And mind always had to be,

God is the explanation!

The only one I see.

 

The intelligent mind,

God the Supreme

That always will be

And always has been.

 

The I AM THAT I AM

Is His name,

Yesterday, today and forever

He is the same.

 

If matter created mind

Rather than the other way

Then day is night

And night is day.

 

Down is up

And up is down

Heaven is hell

And a smile is a frown.

 

Alas, this is not so

For we all have a mind,

It’s not just a matter of matter

But it’s God’s design.

 

 

The mind matters 

But matter doesn't mind

And matter never has

At any given time.

It’s A Matter of Mind

 

 

Mind before matter

Or matter before mind,

What does it really matter?

Asked a distorted mind.

 

After all, we are here

And that’s all that matters,

Down with the rhetoric

And the empty chatter!

 

If the matter on the mind

Were as simple as that,

We would be like the flies

Or the mosquitoes we zap.

 

But clearly, we are not

Since we are able to think,

Though like mosquitoes and flies

Some dare to sink.

 

 

There is an oft made expression

“It’s mind over matter”

Yet when we think of our origin

It is unscientific chatter.

 

We mindlessly declare

A Big Bang as first cause,

That is matter over mind

And matter gets the applause.

 

Matter begot matter

Through a Big Bang!

And upon this lack of science

Most of the world hangs.

 

Let’s examine this

And see where it leads,

Don’t use your mind first

Start with matter, please!

 

Here we have matter

Without any mind

But it is difficult to push on

No mind to incline.

 

No progressive thought

In fact, no thought at all,

Hence, mind first, I applaud

And matter first, I appall

 

What is interesting is…

That the mind thinks

And if it doesn’t act on matter

Then matter stinks.

 

No, it’s not an expletive

I simply mean decay,

That’s what happens to matter

If the mind has no say.

 

 

The laws of thermodynamics:

The law of entropy:

Without the mind

There is just depravity.

 

Any matter left on its own

Will deteriorate over time,

However, that deterioration slows

When acted on by the mind.

 

God is the preserver

Of all we see and know,

His is the supreme mind

That the entire universe shows.

 

This may be difficult

To conceptualize in the mind

But it is all that makes sense

Re the origin of matter, space and time.

 

Mind first then matter

Not matter then mind,

God is the creator of matter

And even space and time.

 

Science supports this

God is the first cause,

It’s mind before matter

God gets my applause!
