Mindless and Faithless

 

 

Believers need to think

While thinkers need to believe

That every gift that either has

From God, they have received.

 

The function of heart and brain

Is necessary for these two

Since either one without the other

Presents a lopsided view.

 

The world frowns on believers

And opines there are no thinkers there,

How can they actually believe such nonsense

With such reverential fear?

 

In many ways, I dare say,

The world is being vindicated

For many believers jettison their brains

And to men become subjugated.

 

Quoting “the just shall walk by faith”

And using this as an excuse

To exercise their faithfulness of heart

While a functional brain they refuse.

 

No place for thinkers here

For here, thinkers do not belong,

Just exercise their unquestionable faith

And constantly pray to be strong.

 

The other side is just as bad

That pushes all brain and no heart,

Notice despite their myriad PhD’s

The world is noticeably dark.

 

 

Brain dead does not a heart support

Nor the other way around,

One without the other, you must agree,

Will pull a body down.

 

 

Mindlessness pervades the church

While faithlessness, the world,

O for eyes that would open and see,

One without the other is absurd.

 

Come ye apart is not to segregate,

Just like love cannot manifest hate

But for believers to reach out to thinkers

And in the love of Christ relate.

 

To tell the good news of salvation

That thinkers would come to believe

With minds open to Jesus Christ

Who sinners will receive.

 

The Father epitomizes scholarship

He is the only omniscient God,

Without Him there is no science

And this we should applaud.

 

So, while believers need to think

Thinkers need to believe

The message of eternal salvation

And with repentant hearts receive.

Mindlessness in the church

Is like a heart without a brain

And such a situation, I do declare,

Puts a body under strain.

Faithlessness in the world

Is like a brain without a heart,

No wonder there is little compassion

And the world is so dark.

 

“Put on your thinking caps!”

A word to the misguided believer,

And to the thinker, I admonish,

It’s time you were a believer.

What Is Science?

 

 

We are following the science

I hear the authorities say

And that of course is the stimulus

To get us act in a certain way.

 

It especially relates to COVID-19

And how to beat this foe

And what strikes me most of the time

There is much that we don’t know.

 

But we are following the science

They all suggest

Though shooting in the dark

Is what they do best.

 

Hence, the question on my mind

What really is science?

Is it different for different people?

What’s its level of reliance?

 

For sure I am confused

Regarding all of this science,

I was taught that it was observable

And that I can trust its evidence.

 

Yet science that was once true

Is not true in our day and age,

It certainly seems to me

That science is at a different stage.

 

We hear about scientific facts

Like the earth is round

But long ago many said it was flat

Though later proven to be wrong.

 

Man landed on the moon

Though that is still being disputed

And a lot of science we learnt at school

Has since become uprooted.

 

So, is science the knowledge?

Is it the pursuit?

Is it the database we have?

What really forms its root?

 

Is it a calculated guess?

Is the ongoing experimentation?

What really is science?

Please relieve my apprehension.

 

Of course, I am aware

There are myriad fields of science,

Some are said to be exact

And others with acceptable variance.

 

General science and medical science

And the science of criminology,

Social science and physical science

And the science of psychology.

 

There are genetics and physics

And the science of linguistics,

Oceanology, zoology and biology

Astronomy botany and geology.

 

And these are not even all

Though a far cry from secondary school

When physics, chemistry and biology

Were the standard rule.

 

Now we have pure science and applied

The exact and the defiled,

Science with a bias and an agenda

Science with an attempt to beguile.

 

And the more we learn

The more lost we seem,

Like a bright light with no focus

Because there is the lack of a beam.

 

True science and flawed science

Creation and evolution,

In one of these lies science origin

My conclusion is creation.

 

 

 

All of science starts with God

Since He began it all,

Omni-science is one of his attributes

And all is at His beck and call.

God Needs No Consultancy

It is a biblical fact

God needs no consultancy,

No man or establishment

With whom to agree.

He is no man’s debtor,

Cannot be hung out to dry,

He, in fact, is the Creator

No matter how some deny.

There is a fallacy

That is making the rounds

That God needs permission

To work in this earth’s bounds.

It’s from the pit of hell,

Can’t be from anywhere else,

If you are thinking so

It’s time you check yourself.

Or better still,

Let God check you out,

His omnipotence and omniscience

Is without doubt.

When He said,

“Let us make man,”

It was not a consultation,

It was already a plan.

Conceptualized before

Earth’s foundations were laid,

The Trinity was in agreement

Before anything was made.

It was not a consultation,

Not even a discussion,

No memorandum or referendum

But a Trinity decision.

They did not talk it over

It was nothing like that,

God simply said, “Let Us.”

And the rest is fact.

 

I am sorry for those people

That feel they can wag God,

I would like to tell them

They are wagged by the Fraud.

Satan, the knave,

Has them believing this,

They are not on target

Theirs is a colossal miss.

Job 38 and 39

They should consult with Job

Via the book so named,

In every question God posed

Job failed again and again.

He didn’t ace his examination

More like he zeroed it,

Zilch was his score line,

It had become his habit.

He couldn’t answer a single question

That the Creator God had posed,

He didn’t have what it took

That’s what Job, himself, diagnosed.

We had better come to that conclusion

Before it is too late,

Many so-called intellectuals

Are at standing at hell’s gate.

  

The fear of the Lord

Is the beginning of wisdom

Even some attending church

Are lost and undone.

Whether they know this or not

It is not me to tell,

If they heed the Spirit’s counsel

I know they would do well.

God needs no consultancy

In this earth realm,

The earth is His footstool

His creation He transcends.

 

God does as He pleases

He has infinite insight,

A word to you intellectuals,

You are not that bright.

It’s time to admit,

Whether scientist or philosopher,

We are His creatures

God is the Creator.

Thus, He needs no consultancy

This is demonstratively so,

Don’t you think, that like me

It is also time you know?
