The Conscience Points to A Creator

 

 

There are many cases for a Creator

Like thought and morality and DNA

But a very compelling one is the conscience

That points us towards God’s way.

 

None of these four could just happen

With an origin in a Big Bang,

Some Intelligence had to be responsible

And upon this all of creation hangs.

 

Someone with the ability to think

Must have had the very first thought,

God’s expressed thought re: man’s creation

Was an idea the Trinity brought.

 

“Let us make man,” you would recall

Was the way God expressed that idea

And clearly there was agreement

For the other two thought the same way.

 

 

The other two in the preceding line

Refers to the Word and the Holy Spirit,

They were with God in the beginning

And all of creation was their mandate.

 

Man was created in God’s image

The Genesis account indicates

So that man possesses God-like attributes

From this one can extrapolate.

 

Hence the conscience was God-given

When God breathed life into man,

It is a by-product of God’s Spirit

And an integral part of His divine plan.

 

It distinguishes man from the animals

Which have no such facility,

The conscience points man to God

And respects His Divine Authority.

 

 

In 1^st Timothy chapter 4 and verse 2

We read concerning the last days

Of men’s conscience as seared with a hot iron

As they pursue their hypocritical ways.

 

The first Biblical reference to the conscience

Is found in John chapter 8 and verse 9,

Here an adulteress was brought to Jesus

To see what he would do about her crime.

 

But the way Jesus dealt with the matter

Convicted her accusers by their own conscience,

Not one of them remained to convict her

They were forced to give up their stance.

 

The conscience is often referred to

As a person’s moral regulator,

It propels us to the moral high ground

It’s our God-given right and wrong indicator.

 

In all of the earth’s civilizations

Both the primitive and the more advanced

The conscience has figured immensely

And the quality of life it enhanced.

 

 

Conscience is the mind’s alarm

That is triggered when there is the danger

Of overstepping the moral boundaries

Implanted on the heart by the Creator.

 

When that alarm is frequently ignored

The conscience becomes calloused and numb,

Such an individual loses his moral bearings

And does things despicable and dumb

 

His sense of right and wrong goes adrift

With no sense of moral direction,

He can do the ghastliest of things

And experience no moral compunction.

 

He is perhaps worse than the animal

Which clearly didn’t come with a conscience

And in the present time that we live in

Such would not be difficult to advance.

 

Remorse is deposited in the conscience

And there too one will find regret

But both of these come after the act

When faced with the colossal debt.

 

 

Critical to a proactive working conscience

Is the alarm that goes off in the mind

That assesses the consequences of such action

And responds up front and not behind.

 

Good advice is to use the conscience proactively

For prevention is better than cure

And the heeding of one’s God-given conscience

Is better if at first it’s not ignored.

 

That the conscience is God-given is not in doubt

If one is not blinded by evolution,

In evolution a problem arises as to how

But in creation God provided the solution.

 

He has written His law within our heart

It’s the law of love and peace,

Heart is synonymous with the conscience He gave

And a conscience towards God brings sweet relief.

Far More Incredible

It’s far more incredible to believe

All we see was from nothing conceived

Or to believe Evolution’s story

Rather than God who sits in Glory.

It takes far more faith to grasp

That billions of years had to elapse

Before space and matter were formed

Rather than six days God’s norm.

I find it difficult to swallow

That scientists could be so shallow

To believe out of nothing grew something

Initiated by a Big Bang; that is puzzling.

Aren’t you flummoxed by the idea

That an intelligent scientist would say

Something from nothing could appear

If we just factor in a few billion years?

And what is this primordial soup

To which many would dare to stoop

Instead of believing God as the source

Of all life and its principle force?

And what about those who opine

That the first life came out of slime?

Is it not easier to give the affirmative nod

To creation’s Creator, Almighty God?

Come on you who set store by science

God and science agree; there’s no defiance,

Stop for a minute; just a pause…

Yes, that is it!  Yes God is the first cause!

First cause is absent regarding evolution

But certainly not in the case of creation,

While evolutionists don’t know where to begin

Creationists posit that God is the origin.

You see first cause would have to be a being,

I trust by now you are clearly seeing,

Be reasonable and tell me who that could be

If it’s not God the Creator, the Almighty.

  

I know that your thoughts I have intruded

But hear me out what I have concluded,

Most atheists don’t believe what they believe

When considering these notions they perceive.

The invisible things of God are clearly seen

They manifestly point to a Being Supreme

But men’s foolish hearts just constantly evade

The evidence in the things that were made.

Such is the manifestation of a fool

Who pretends to be wise but folly is his tool

Choosing to become vain in his imaginations

Rather than give God credit for all of creation.

Relegating God’s glory to that of corrupt man

Worshipping the created became man’s plan

Rather than the Creator as God had designed

Exchanging God’s truth for the lie in his mind.

They know creation’s argument is valid

But refuse to retain God in their knowledge,

Determined instead to bend basic science

To fit in with their evolutionary nonsense.

And as if such nonsense were not enough

They present to the world another bluff,

The idea of thought and from where it came

And a whole lot of mumbo jumbo they claim.

Nothing is real they say, just a perception,

Just a thought on which one takes an action

So that if you can prove that you are here

It’s just in your imagination that you appear.

Well perhaps the first part of this is right

Nothing is real only if nothing is in sight,

Something on the other hand cannot be disputed

Unless one’s argument is clearly convoluted.

That thought is very involved none can deny

So on God as its origin I must rely,

While a big bang may cause you to run for cover

It could not originate thought; do consider.

Then there is the ongoing issue of morality

From where did humans develop this facility?

Of course evolutionists don’t have a clue

Further clouding their ideas of false and true.

It makes far better sense given our reality

To think of a Supreme Being with such facility

Who Himself being a moral entity

Could make morality a human possibility.

And so the moral compass we have within

Prompts us regarding what’s right and what’s sin

Having been created in the image of the Supreme

In us these attributes are clearly seen.

The ability to think, the facility to discern

Are strictly speaking both human terms,

Design and innovation are found in no beasts

Not even chimps and monkeys to say the least.

Sparrows still build nests as they did before

One room apartments no windows no doors,

Fish cannot adapt on land or in space

But humans everywhere leave their trace.

Machines to roam the land and seas

And spacecraft, humans invented all of these,

Made in the image of God Almighty

Man unlike any other has immense ability.

All this from Big Bang and primordial soup

Is like chickens before birth building their own coop,

Such a notion is inordinately insane

But this is the measure of the evolutionist’s claim.

And you say it is incredible to believe in God

And to Big Bang and slime give an affirmative nod

Affirming that nothing is the source for all we see,

Of nothing came something; that’s how it has to be.

And so for me evolution is far more incredible

Than God who did what was humanly impossible

And to put trust in what is clearly unintelligible

Is to reject the evidence that is so undeniable.
