Just Two Words

Yes, Dear!

Let me start adrift

And then I’ll come home

To the crux of the matter

Or, the meat on the bone.

Remember the song

“Those Three Little Words”

Which to your spouse

Was like having the world?

How they settled disputes

Before they grew

Yes, Those Three Little Words

I Love You?

But given today’s recession

There is a cut back

It’s two words now

With a greater impact.

Gentlemen, if you want your marriage to work

Here is what you do,

“Yes Dear” is now the magic words

Instead of “I Love You”.

When she calls out to you

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she doesn’t agree with your view

It is, Yes Dear!

 Yes, Dear!

If something is to be done right away

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she wants you to stay home on a work day

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she doesn’t like the friends you are keeping

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she wants you to sleep when she is sleeping

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she puts a curfew on you

It is, Yes Dear!

And if for each event her dress must be new

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she pesters you all through the day

It is, Yes Dear!

And if she wants you around but not in her way

It is, Yes Dear!

And if you know she is wrong but she thinks she is right

It is, Yes Dear!

And you’d rather be in the dark but she wants the light

It is, Yes Dear!

And she wants you do something you’d rather not do

It is, Yes Dear!

And you want to buy a lot but she says a few

It is, Yes Dear!

You want to give her half of the money but she wants all

It is, Yes Dear!

And you want to make a call and she says don’t call

It is, Yes Dear!

And she wants you to change from your Yes Dear reply

It is, Yes Dear!

But she doesn’t want you to ask her the reason why

It is, Yes Dear!

 Yes, Dear!

And the moment you stop she changes her mind

It is, Yes Dear!

And she wants you to say curtains instead of blinds

It is, Yes Dear!

And she feels you are unfaithful but you know you are not

It is, Yes Dear!

And she makes you promise you will immediately stop

It is, Yes Dear!

And she wants to check to make sure you comply

It is, Yes Dear!

And whatever she wants you must agree to buy

It is, Yes Dear!

And you want to be a man but she wants a yard boy

It is, Yes Dear!

And she wants you to be quiet and don’t even look annoyed

It is, Yes Dear!

And when all you have done she is still not satisfied

It is, Yes Dear!

And she wants you out of her sight so go and hide

It is, Yes Dear!

And after that she accuses you for not being around

It is, Yes Dear!

And wants you to agree you are the world’s biggest clown

It is, Yes Dear!

And she somehow realizes she is wrong and you are right

It is, Yes Dear!

But you must accept being wrong so she can be right

It is, Yes Dear!

Yes, Dear!

So the two of you can live happily ever after

It is, Yes Dear!

And have a great marriage with lots of children and laughter

It is, Yes Dear!

And occasionally say I love you, like three times a day

It is, Yes Dear!

And sing along with her “We did it your way”

It is, Yes Dear!

Just Three Words

HEBREW WORD STUDY – LET THERE BE LIGHT | Chaim Bentorah

There are several statements

Which comprise three words

Significant words indeed:

Most of them you have heard.

“I love you” is one of them

And “Keep it up” is another,

Don’t you dare” and “You’d better not”,

These are two of the others.

“Hurry up child”

Sounds pretty much like a parent

And “Excuse me please”

That’s one’s way of getting clearance.

“Give God praise” and why not?

“Who is he?” as in I want to know,

“Are you saved?” a critical question

And yet another is “Do not go”.

In chapter 1 of Genesis we have

“Let There Be”,

The three words

Upon which hang all the galaxies.

Can you imagine that?

Let there be light

And throughout the entire universe

Light came into sight.

Let there be this

And let there be that,

God simply called it into being

And it became a fact.

I have a little problem, though

With these millions of years

When the Bible simply says

In just six days all appeared.

On day No. 7 God rested

For in six days all was set,

Let there be occurred three times

And there after, it was simply “let”.

Thirteen times in Genesis 1

God uses the word “let”

Three times He said, “Let there be”

And the other ten he said “let”.

Upon God’s “let”, the universe was made:

The galaxies and all within,

It took more than words however,

When God dealt with our sin.

The Blood of Jesus | Pure Flix

It took the blood of Jesus

God’s precious begotten Son:

An infinite cost to the blessed Trinity

When He purchased our freedom.

“Let there be” was not used

When God had fashioned Adam,

And certainly not with Jesus Christ:

He was fully God yet man.

“Let there be” has its place,

It demonstrates God’s creative power,

Upon these words creation stands

Created in six twenty-four hours.

But there are three more words

Upon which hangs our re-creation

“Father forgive them,” Jesus cried,

And therein lies our salvation.

“It is finished,” he also cried

Signifying his work was complete

And all that is left for us to do

Is to kneel at the Saviour’s feet.

My Surprise Package

That day I set my eyes on you
I knew yours was a love that’s true
And after thirty-six wonderful years
I am still glad I said, “I do.”

We are growing young together
Though I am a few years up ahead
And if I ever had to do it over,
You’d be the one that I would wed.

You mean so much to me
A dictionary of words cannot explain
But in this poetic expression
Three words express my heart again.

In this poem they are clearly stated
Even the blind should actually see,
Lynette, it’s you I am talking about,
You’re what love really means to me.

Thirty-six years ago we said, “I do.”
From that day we meant every word,
Perhaps I’ve faltered more than you
But I wouldn’t trade you for the world.

I am not the world’s greatest romantic
It’s not a goal I would ever pursue
But this I know, my surprise package
I’d go to the ends of the world for you.

Today I wish you happy anniversary
And pray to God for fifty more
And that every time you read this poem
You’d see you’re the woman that I adore.
