No, You Don’t

What Does Colossians 3:3 Mean?

You don’t know me

Though you think you do

And you can argue all day

How long I’ve been around you.

You don’t see me

Though you think you do

For my life is hid with Christ in God

And yours should be too.

You don’t understand me

Though you think you do

And I am aware in the same way

I don’t understand you.

Here is a phenomenon

We should not less count:

The fact we have been washed

In the blood of the fount.

There is a fountain Filled with Blood. There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose. - ppt download

The blood of Jesus

When he was on the cross

That flowed from his broken body

For all the lost.

As they knew him not

You don’t know me

For that by which you measure

Is no longer my lot.

I have been changed

Yes, I have been born again

And I have a new name in heaven

And a new refrain.

I am a kingdom child

Of the Most-High God

And no longer whom you know:

That nefarious fraud.

It may not be obvious

And I’m speaking of my change

But believe me, even my thinking

Has been rearranged.

Have a chat with those

Who are closest to me

And they will tell you I’ve changed,

Most sincerely.

I occasionally lapse

And like a toddler I fall

But I will not wallow in sin’s muck

No, not me at all.

So, you think you know me

But that is in the past,

That wandering sheep you know

Did come home at last.

A Crucial Lesson from the Brother of the Prodigal Son « Meridian Magazine

Don’t be a prodigal at home

And in envy burn

Because the prodigal that roamed

Has finally returned.

Get to know me instead

And see what God has done,

And what the Spirit is daily doing

For me in the kingdom.

You don’t know me

Though you think you do

And what I am saying about you

Can be said about me too.

Slain in the Spirit

 Slain In The Spirit

Slain in the Spirit

Cannot be too good

And we need to examine it,

Really, we should.

Take this in good spirit

Yes, and the pun is intended,

In the spirit in which it is offered

Do not be offended.

I checked the word slain

In the WordWeb dictionary

And it simply means dead:

No life in the body.

WordWeb Pro v10.22 + Keygen + Reference Bundle | haxNode

What an implication

For being slain in the Spirit!

Since the Holy Spirit is life-giving

Slaying won’t be his habit.

Two spirits you’d notice:

Capital ‘S’ and common ‘s’,

The former being the Holy Spirit

And the latter far less.

God’s Spirit and our spirit

Is an apt summation

To make us clear in our mind

Regarding each definition.

With this in mind

Let’s examine this phenomenon

That over time

Has been a problem.

What's Next After You Have Been Slain in the Spirit? — Charisma News

The victim, falling backward,

Has to be caught and let down

So that he or she won’t be injured

As they hit the ground.

Catchers must be in place

And their job is to catch

So that a potential lawsuit

Doesn’t become a fact.

This has happened

When things went very wrong

And people got injured

When they hit the ground.

Mythbuster: Slain in the Spirit — For the Gospel

Some people fake it

While for others it is real,

But whether real or faked

Both get a failing grade.

If the living is slain

Then communication is dead

Unless the communicator

Is the Godhead.

Jesus spoke to the dead

And the dead obeyed,

A confirmed case is Lazarus

Whom Jesus raised.

There is a difference

Between unconscious and dead,

Unconscious is what happens

To the slain instead.

God requires consciousness

When He deals with us

So that being slain in the Spirit

Is unbiblical stuff.

Scripture Walls Come Now Isaiah 1:18 Bible Verse Canvas Christian Wall Art Ready to Hang Unframed - Walmart.com

“Come let us reason,”

Check Isaiah 1 verse 18,

This slain in the Spirit phenomenon

Is a whole different scene.

Falling forward is one thing

Falling back is another,

This slain in the Spirit thing

Is truly a bother.

It is not as frequent

As it was before,

Someone said it was merely a fad

And now it’s a fad no more.

The suggestion I imagine

Is that fads wear off,

Nothing is genuinely gained

And I guess nothing is lost.

Slain in the Spirit

Seems to connote the dead,

However, the Spirit is life-giving

And gives life instead.

TIME-ORDER-FOCUS

Image result for images for a heartbeat

Tick - tock, tick - tock
Hear the ticking clock
Note the moments lost
Count the climbing cost.

God gives to each of us
The time to order focus
First His divine purpose
In Him place our trust.

In order to get it right
Seek God the guiding light
Then life is not a waste
Don’t delay, make haste.

Image result for images for a heartbeat
I will hasten to define
The phenomenon call time
It is really life, you know
God has measured it so.

Time is all we’ve got
God’s purpose is our lot
So let’s be up and doing
His will alone pursuing.

However long our days
We must avoid delays
So prevalent in our way
Most evident in our stay.

Time may be a moment
Or just an ordered event
An opportunity or a chance
Someone’s life to enhance.

It’s not just about me and I
Or when hurt brings a sigh
But all of God’s creation
Should engage our attention.

By now we all should see
Time is not a place to be
But a facility to be used
Not I but let God choose.

Image result for images for a heartbeat

So life is a period of time
Often its clock will chime
Reminding of its brevity
One has entered eternity.

So what do I do with time?
Order now comes into line
For but few are our days
Number them King David says.

Image result for images for a heartbeat
Solomon, his very first son
Reminds of the following one
A time to live and a time to die
Now that’s a fact none can deny.

Image result for images for death
A necessity we dare not miss
In the order of this analysis
God is first as the order is set
Remember, we tend to forget.

Image result for images for first second and third

Order is important do realize
This is the key as we priortise
God first in all that we do
Brings success to me and you.

About order take another clue
Important to me and to you
What’s really needed in this life
Are love and peace, not strife.

Put them high up on the list
To omit them is a critical miss
God made us for one another
To live for His good pleasure.

Order right we won’t go wrong
Marching on bold and strong
Setting focus by the Guiding Light
Aimed at Christ so set our sight.

Image result for images for focus

Focus makes the difference
In a hit or miss circumstance
In all of life’s endeavours
Focus unearths the treasures.

Time, order and focus, note
Make this your familiar quote
“Redeeming the time is a must
In Christ Jesus I dare to trust”.

God it was that created time
Ordered all that we call mine
By His focus all came to be
By His word all that we see.

God’s Magnificent Best

Catamaran Sailing Past Sunset in Captiva Island Florida 2019 Photograph by Shelly Tschupp

Standing on the beach
Looking across the sea,
Feeling pleased as punch
As on a bun I munched.

The sun was sinking low
Setting the water aglow,
‘Twas a splendid sight
As the sky came alight.

My eyes held to the line
Separating sky from sea,
My mind on its accuracy
Showing God’s ability.

Artists try to illustrate
The beauty that they see,
But always falling short
Of God, His Majesty.

Yes, I was overwhelmed,
This work of the Supreme,
Captured my entire being,
This feast my eyes had seen.

It was absolutely fabulous,
Not that I could be a judge
Of the handiwork of God,
My eyes won’t even budge.

I stared in trapped oblivion,
I could not look away,
The view held my attention
There at the close of day.

I was frozen by its beauty,
In my mind I heard a voice,
Have your eyes seen better?
“No,” was my spoken choice.

My greatest desire that time
Was to be truly locked away,
With this rich phenomenon
I was viewing from the bay.

Then I attempted to analyse
This scene before my eyes,
I was aware of my limitations
And struck by God’s creation.

The many rulers it would take
To draw that straight horizon,
And the steady hand to make
It flow with such precision.

I thought of those great artists
Who then and in the past,
Had painted many a sunset
But this had all outclassed.

No doubt these artists too
Had given God much praise,
When in one such moment
Their eyes on a sunset gazed.

The colours were resplendent,
Their numbers I couldn’t count,
They cascaded in the ocean
And form a magnificent fount.

Even as the ripples danced
In the gentle evening breeze,
I stood transfixed in a trance
My attention God had seized.

Suddenly I wanted to scream
“God, you are so very great!”
But I contained my ecstasy,
Allowing reason to dictate.

Again came the inner voice,
“Must you dissect everything?
Won’t you ever understand
How much there is in listening?”

This was not for examination
But simply for me to enjoy,
I had wasted time in analysis
Now I felt like the errant boy.

In a moment the sun was gone,
The spectacle had disappeared,
And with it that thing of beauty,
At which I could no longer stare.

I knew I had missed that moment
When the sun had slipped away,
I had been caught in my analysis
That had worked to my dismay

But in my depths of solitude,
That voice had said to me,
“That’s not my magnificent best,
For that, just look to Calvary.

That was a sunset too you know,
The disciples sure thought it so,
They too had missed the beauty
Of the blood for sin that flowed.”

God’s Son was on that cross
And for our sins He did atone,
‘Twas such a glorious sight
And Jesus did it all alone.

For God so earnestly desires
To paint upon every heart,
That picture of the Saviour
Today you should let Him start.

Just view that greater Light
As you gaze upon that scene,
See where Jesus hung in agony
There, you and me to redeem,

At his back was the sinking sun,
God’s Son silhouetted in its light,
For the disciples a horrid sight
But God was displaying His might.

Many have wondered at this
And have called it a mystery,
In the midst of apparent defeat
God had painted the victory.

Jesus cried out, “It is finished!”
Many thought it was the end
But the painting was that sunset
Before the sunrise God did send.

“That was my magnificent best,”
God said, the painting yet unfinished
Was marked “to be continued”,
As the Light would be diminished.

This sunset was really not about
The sun’s departing radiance,
But was meant to be the herald
Of the Son’s uprising brilliance.

God’s magnificent best was no sunset
That adorned that evening sky,
Rather, it was the life that Jesus gave
As that Passover evening drew nigh.

Good Friday evening and Easter Morn,
The sinking sun and the crack of dawn,
The crucified Jesus and the risen Christ,
All speak of the Lamb and His sacrifice.
