Last Word

Albert Camus Quote: “Somebody has to have the last word. If not, every argument could be

When arguing with a woman

Just remember this,

Last word goes to the lady

If you don’t wish to be dissed.

Last word wins the dispute

In the woman’s case,

Any talk after her last word

Will be an absolute waste.

I am talking from experience;

There are many in my life,

Don’t mind I am February born

I was not built for strife.

It does not matter the age,

Let her have the last word

For anything you say after this

Is treated as being absurd.

Dallas Willard Quote: “I'm practicing the discipline of not having to have the last word.”

You cannot win an argument

With these special souls,

They identify a specific detail

While men see the whole.

For the ladies it is emotive

For the man it is about the fact

So, you can argue all day long

They will never see that.

The man will note the action

The lady sees the effect

So, it matters not what is brought

It will be a total reject.

We are wired differently:

That is, the woman and the man,

And I have absolutely no doubt

This was the Creator’s plan.

You don't HAVE to have the last word – Home Base

Have the argument if you must

But understand this, Mr. Man,

You will not win that argument

Try as much as you can.

Last word wins the argument,

Give it to the ladies, please.

Remember they are built for distance,

We are built for speed.

Impressions vs Facts

Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings | Know Your Meme

Facts definitely matter

But impressions more so,

The truth is how you see it

More like what you know.

I go with my gut feeling

Of this I can be sure,

I have nothing more to go on

Absolutely nothing more.

I process information

Through filters in my mind

And the impression I get

Is just what I opine.

That’s my truth right there

It is indeed relative:

Relative to you and yours

But to me it is normative.

Reasonable Answers to "Your Truth is not my Truth" - YouTube

Our truths are different

As different as can be,

I live by mine and you by yours

That’s who we are, you see.

No need for common ground

Diversity is much better,

We learn from each other

Each one: a trend setter.

Why worry about facts?

Who knows them anyway?

Go by your impressions

Each and everyday.

And even if facts matter

It’s your impression of them,

Twisting the facts now

Is no longer a problem.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please | Popular inspirational quotes at EmilysQuotes | Mark twain quotes, Good life quotes, Change quotes

That’s how we presently live

And we are doing fine,

That is my impression

Hence, that’s what I opine.

The world is so exciting

It’s full of our impressions,

Yours and mine together-

Here is my summation.

Impressions vs Facts

Is a gripping competition

But the winner by far is...

Undoubtedly impressions.

A sad day I hear you say

But this started long ago,

From that first impression

I had told you so.

Here is my disclaimer

This is not my position

But it most certainly is

My observable impression.

Disputes

Un philosophe explique comment naissent les disputes... et quels sont les moyens de les éviter

Whenever we dispute

Do we feel that we are wrong?

Certainly not me, my friend,

Hence, I argue strong.

Who would argue strong

In the knowledge he is wrong

And on the back of all this

Stretch it out long?

I guess a fool would

But then again, it’s his nature

And such I would dare say

Never sees the full picture.

That’s why it is important

To make sure of the facts

Before arguing wrong and strong

And talking crap.

why its good to be wrong

I have been wrong

Though I was sure I was right

But apologetically changed my mind

When I saw the light.

And not once or twice

But more that I can count,

And of course, given my age now,

I can’t tell you the amount.

Number, not amount,

I can hear the grammar purists

But having claimed poetic license

I can do this.

 Amount vs number - YouTube

You see what I mean?

You still want to dispute,

Okay, you are right and I am wrong

But I shall remain resolute.

It’s my poem, not yours,

And amount sounds better,

No need to continue this dispute,

You can use number.

Nobody disputes a point

That he knows to be true,

That is why from time to time

Disputes will accrue.

Of Bases and Biases

Look Again!

They almost look alike

But there is a major difference

Though we might not spot it

In every instance.

And when that happens

We have ourselves to blame

And to correct the situation

We just need to look again.

This is not so easily done

Given our stiff-necked nature

And having a preconceived bias

Obscures the genuine picture.

I am all too aware

That I appear to be rambling

But don’t bet on it, I caution you

If you are into gambling.

And I don’t mean the Rastafarians

Who focus on the “I and I”,

For them that’s more than one

And that, we can’t deny.

Look Again Official Movie Website - Comedy

But it’s time we see the difference

In these two often used words,

Look again I beg you

And with me you will concur.

It is the “I” that is different

Between the bases and one’s view

And yes, agenda gets in the pot

And really corrupts the stew.

It is the “I” in biases

That turns the matter on its head

And the reluctance to make a change

That error is persistently fed.

“This is how I see it

Never mind the fact”

And our self-opinionated mindset

Will take us to the moon and back.

Love Me Logo - Free Transparent PNG Clipart Images Download

Yes, the difference in the words

Is simply the “I”

But this is a major difference

That none of us can deny.

I am the difference

And that is the confession I make

And if you are not prepared to do so too

Then maybe you are a fake.

We all have our biases

Which often preempt the facts,

It is the “I” I reemphasize

That is the devil on our back.

Lies Ahead or Lies Ahead

What Lies Ahead Stock Illustrations – 27 What Lies Ahead Stock Illustrations, Vectors & Clipart - Dreamstime

What lies ahead?

We cannot and do not know,

The future is in the Master’s hand

And He has ordered it so.

God’s Word reveals the truth

We need to know in our time,

The time allotted to every human

As reflected in the daily grind.

We do not know what lies ahead

Except for what’s revealed,

Revealed through the Holy Word

To them that dare believe.

Some dare to make-believe

They know what lies ahead

But they that be alive know no more

Than they that be right now dead.

None knows what lies ahead:

Not a single woman or man!

But God does, His Word assures us

And accordingly, he planned.

Don't lie on your CV; untrue credentials can land you in a soup - The Economic Times

What lies are ahead

Is distinctively different,

Compared to what we started with,

This has a dishonest bent.

The first case spoke to facts

That to us are yet unknown,

The latter speaks to stark untruths

That are not yet in our zone.

What Lies Ahead: Higher Education Trends for 2022

Predictions of every sort,

Even prophecies in the church,

Lies present, past and future

Told by lying experts.

Lies ahead as in the verb

Versus lies ahead as in the noun,

Regarding the latter I am confused;

I guess you could call me clown.

Lies ahead as in the future

Lies ahead as being fake,

The former looms unpredictably

Both are too much to take.

What lies ahead is fateful

And what lies are ahead are too,

Both seem to be inextricably linked

At least to me, if not you.

Simplify the Complex

The Importance of Keeping it Simple (and how to do it) | GoSmallBiz.com

What a weird theme!

That is for you to say

But ever since the COVID advent

We have lost our way.

“We are following the science”

The authorities constantly argue

But they that oppose also claim

“We are following it too.”

Both are following the science

And I am terribly confused

For the science I am hearing from both

Is of contrasting views.

It’s time to simplify this thing

For people like you and me

Who earnestly want to protect

Our friends and family.

Are our opinions influenced? | Voices of Youth

When they are myriad opinions

The real news becomes lost,

So-called alternative facts surge

And only views come across.

The major is on the minors

The minors overrule the major,

Talk is the futile activity

With little significant labour.

Everybody has an opinion

Though as subjective as can be,

But of the objective and irrefutable-

The less of this we see.

Some say that the COVID virus

Was created in a lab,

Now that would give man god-status

And that would be very bad.

A virus is a form of life

And man cannot create life

So, to say that man created a virus

Is nothing short of strife.

Some say it originated in Wuhan

So, what can we do with that?

Even that appears to be an opinion

And an opinion is not a fact.

Much talk about the vaccine

To take or not to take,

Those that are for think it is effective

Those against believe it is fake.

Some say it is not a vaccine,

It does not guarantee immunity

While others say it’s an extra layer

In the fight against the enemy.

One thing that can’t be refuted

Is that we have a real pandemic,

And as the number of cases daily rise

There is the incidence of panic.

COVID-19 Update: 101 new cases, 506 in isolation | Loop Barbados

That COVID-19 is causing death

Only a fool would deny,

COVID-19 is as real as real can be

Just like mosquitoes and flies.

So, let’s set the record straight

And simplify the complex,

Let us straight talk about COVID

Regardless of who gets vexed.

It is almost two years now

And it is going nowhere fast,

Many have been the COVID victims

And many have also passed.

Around there is much dislocation

And many are unemployed,

And the attempts to thwart COVID

Are constantly being foiled.

It appears from where I sit

That the vaccine offers some respite,

The data show this relevant fact

Regarding this COVID fight.

So, it comes right down to a choice:

Whether to be ill or to die,

That the ill still has a fighting chance

I surely would not deny.

Fifty-one COVID deaths so far

Not one of these was vaccinated,

This strengthens my vaccine choice

Even if I am ill-fated.

For my wife sake I took it

When I was even less convinced,

So far so good, as I have heard say,

No repercussions since.

Still can happen, you’d likely say

But for me, it’s one day at a time,

Let’s wait and see and to conclude,

I won’t overload my mind.

Simplify the complex

Let us go with what we know:

Mask up, sanitize and physical distance

And a thought for others show.

To Whom the Spoils?

Image result for images for an argument

When you argue with a woman
You lose it from the start,
For you argue with your head
She argues from the heart.

From the very start
She uses her woman’s intuition,
You will bring fact after fact
But she doesn’t even have to listen.

You will raise your voice
As she frustrates you with her line
And as you wonder how she got there
You’d be running out of time.

For time is on her side
The longer the argument goes on,
She has much staying power
She can argue way past dawn.

While you are longing for some sleep
She is warming to the task
And she doesn’t answer your questions
Don’t even bother to ask.

You cannot derail a woman
When she switches on tunnel vision,
You are fighting a losing battle
Even after the argument is done.

Fact after fact you’d bring
Laid out in an organized fashion
And fact after fact will fall to the ground
As she persists with relentless passion.

Image result for images for Adam and Eve

I wonder how long it took
For Adam to give into Eve,
It wasn’t the apple, by now you know
It was what her eyes revealed.

For a woman argues with her eyes
And through them shines her heart,
Therein is a basic position
From which she will never depart.

The man, he will see the logic
The woman zeros in on the need,
“There is not sufficient funds,” he says,
“I have some stashed,” she pleads.

She is often miles ahead,
She was planning while he slept
And though he presents ten reasons
Each one becomes inept.

O yes, he presents the facts
And each one appeals to commonsense
But she counters stronger every time
From her wealth of experience.

When arguing with a woman
There is little chance of winning,
That’s why they make better lawyers
It’s been so from the beginning.

No doubt when Eve went to Adam
With the lovely looking fruit
He reminded her what God had said
But that went down the shoot.

“O honey, I know what God said
But that’s not really what He meant,
I actually touched the fruit today
So that clearly was not his intent.”

She took a bite and he did too
And apparently they did not die
So the woman’s argument held water,
What God had said was a lie.

Now I know this started out as a poem
Comparing a woman and a man
And how they approach an argument
And the kind of line they plan.

But suddenly in the midst of it
Something different occurred to me,
It’s no use continuing on this line
When there is something more to see.

Image result for images for an argument

In our arguments it’s about winning
And to that end we blindly proceed
And soon we lose sight of what’s important
As those things of importance recede.

The past becomes the present
As the historic record is brought to bear
Evidence regarding who is better or worse
And respect for one another disappears.

Apparent forgiveness turns inside out
Regarding the wrongs of the past
And soon the argument becomes a quarrel
And an impasse looms at last.

The woman’s heart is ripped out
And the man’s logic goes through the door
And Satan’s strategy for dividing them
Now comes through to the fore.

There’s no winner in the argument,
Only losers battle scarred and undone,
Nothing gained but a lot eroded
Is the stark evidence that neither has won.

Relationship takes a hard knock
And what was built up is now broken down
As the years of solid relationship
In a moment becomes unsound.

Cracks appear in the veneer
And the foundation becomes suspect
And what was mutual acceptance
They now both totally reject.

No spoils are there for the taking
Since everything has been spoiled,
Both agitators have built up sanctuaries
Into which they now have recoiled.

The argument is never ended
It plays out in their minds
With each apportioning the other blame
A Winner we will never find.

I am not saying do not argue
I’m just saying be careful when you do,
Invariably there is no winner
And this is my recent view.
