Apologetics and Apology

The First Apologists - YouTube

Apologetics and apology:

Don’t mix up the two,

Some treat them as synonyms

According to their view.

Alas, they are not;

They are vastly different

And to show this in this poem

Is my intent.

One is a defence

Of a biblical doctrine

Like for example an examination

Of universal sin.

Apologetics Needs No Apology | O.S. Hawkins | Prestonwood Baptist Church

The other is a regret

For something said or done

With the intention in the future

It would be shunned.

Apology is the word

Used for either case

But let me hasten to explain,

To scoff, don’t haste.

For some are quick

To pass searing judgment

On matters they haven’t research

But stoutly resent.

Thus, the need to apologize

For poor apologetics

And misleading the uninformed

With an erroneous mix.

On the other hand

No apology is required

By any apologist whose position

Is the Word, God-inspired.

So, don’t mix the two,

They are clearly distinct,

Be clear in you presentation

Even when succinct.

The Nature of Apologetics – Southern Evangelical Seminary

Two meanings of apology

But don’t mix up the two,

One could be a poor presentation

Of an unresearched view.

As an apologist

In the practice of apologetics,

Be wary of so-called apologists

That are up to tricks.

Stand on the Scriptures

And not on apology,

For that which pertains thereto

Touches eternity.

God Has Spoken

The Word of God. - ppt download

No new revelation

It’s all in the Word,

Be cautious, I warn you,

Don’t be absurd.

No new thing

God has done it all,

And He inspired Moses, Isaiah,

John and Paul.

There are more

That He did inspire,

I entreat you in His Word

To enquire.

The voice of the Lord in the words of the prophets (the season of Pentecost in Year C) – An Informed Faith

By His prophets

God has spoken,

And through all the apostles

By Jesus chosen.

Apostles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Church News

Be aware, I warn you,

Don’t be absurd,

All God wants us to know

Is in His Word.

By prophets/apostles

Did He speak

But by His Son, in these times,

Does he speak.

We have the Word

Both living and written

As well as the Holy Spirit-

God has spoken.

God has spoken:

Hence, our only revelation,

And God has also spoken

Via His inspiration.

Holy men wrote

Whom God made holy

And they wrote as God dictated

By inspiration only.

Can Anyone Know Who Really Wrote the Bible? | Bible Questions

Not by brilliance

Or by their own choice

But by God-inspired direction

As they heard His voice.

God’s only revelation

By God’s inspiration

And thirdly we have come to

Holy Spirit’s illumination.

The Spirit of Truth

Has already come

And we need to trust him

And no other one.

For there’s one God

And one Christ who came

As well as the one Holy Spirit

Who speaks in Jesus’ name.

‘Tis he that enlightens

And illuminates

The pages of Holy Scripture

Of which we partake.

The bread of life

Which is Jesus, the Word,

By whom we have salvation.

Haven’t you heard?
