The Word Is Quick

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) — Today's Verse for Sunday, September 8, 1957

I wonder sometimes

Whether we realize

That the life within the Word of God

Is not disguised.

I sometimes ask me

What does this mean

And I go to Hebrews 4:12 to observe

What can be seen.

The written Word

Is about the Living Word

And that this is the Lord Christ,

You have heard.

John in the Gospel

Starts out with this:

“In the beginning, was the Word.”

Sharp and crisp!

examples & synonyms

Explicit from the get-go

No need to interpret,

Take it just as it has been stated,

From eternity set.

A statement of fact

About the First Cause:

And that this necessary first cause

Had to be uncaused.

John echoed Moses,

It’s not a contradiction!

They both are citing the first cause

For all creation.

One singular causation

Definitely not two!

Go directly to John 1 and verse 1

And take in the view.

The Word was God.”

Don’t you see it there?

Upon this fact hangs all that exists

Here and everywhere.

In him was life

There’s life in the Word!

Let that sink into your very being

Now you have heard.

John 1 - Holy Bible English - BibleWordings.com

In the beginning God

And so too, the Word,

Yet so many say this cannot be;

That it’s absurd.

The Word is quick:

Meaning that it is alive

And does not need one’s rhetoric

In order to survive.

Be careful not to add

Or even to subtract,

The Word needs no amendments:

It is eternal fact.

Be sure not to multiply

And definitely not divide

Unless we are using 2 Timothy 2:15

As our guide.

Study to shew thyself

Approved unto God,

A workman that needeth not to be ashamed,

Rightly dividing

The Word of Truth

The only dividing required

Is rightly dividing

And this one and only operation

Is the Spirit’s guiding.

Hebrews 4:12 - Bible verse (KJV) - DailyVerses.net

Yes, the Word is quick

So, let us all stick to it

And let us also do like in Hollywood:

“Stick to the script”.

God Has Spoken

The Word of God. - ppt download

No new revelation

It’s all in the Word,

Be cautious, I warn you,

Don’t be absurd.

No new thing

God has done it all,

And He inspired Moses, Isaiah,

John and Paul.

There are more

That He did inspire,

I entreat you in His Word

To enquire.

The voice of the Lord in the words of the prophets (the season of Pentecost in Year C) – An Informed Faith

By His prophets

God has spoken,

And through all the apostles

By Jesus chosen.

Apostles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Church News

Be aware, I warn you,

Don’t be absurd,

All God wants us to know

Is in His Word.

By prophets/apostles

Did He speak

But by His Son, in these times,

Does he speak.

We have the Word

Both living and written

As well as the Holy Spirit-

God has spoken.

God has spoken:

Hence, our only revelation,

And God has also spoken

Via His inspiration.

Not by brilliance

Or by their own choice

But by God-inspired direction

As they heard His voice.

God’s only revelation

By God’s inspiration

And thirdly we have come to

Holy Spirit’s illumination.

The Spirit of Truth

Has already come

And we need to trust him

And no other one.

For there’s one God

And one Christ who came

As well as the one Holy Spirit

Who speaks in Jesus’ name.

Haven’t you heard?

Revelation and Reason

Reason vs Revelation: How God Speaks

Revelation and reason

Which of the two came first?

Here I believe it is right

And not in the reverse.

Men change it around

So that reason comes first

But based on the Scriptures

Reason first is in reverse.

Humans reason about God

Without His Word,

Straight up as you can see

This is absurd.

Reason comes into play

Only because God has revealed

Some things about Himself

He chose not to conceal.

That which He has revealed

Is for our own understanding

And this is by no means

A result of our demanding.

Some believers will argue

They can command God

And they demand and declare

As though they were God.

You Might Be Wrong About What Your Dog Is Saying When He Wags His Tail! - The Animal Rescue Site News

However, it’s time we know

God cannot be wagged,

Neither does a tail wag a dog

As some will brag.

Revelation and reason-

Revelation came first,

God revealed himself to humans

Then came the curse.

Eve reasoned with the serpent

And she was deceived,

Satan was smarter than she

And got her to disbelieve.

It is not ours first to reason

But to believe what God reveals,

Anything less or anything more

And we will be deceived.

JESUS Is THE Way, THE Truth, And THE Life! Part 3 | Trinity and Humanity

God’s revelation is truth

And His truth is Jesus Christ,

Satan’s truth is truly not truth at all

And is sugar coated to entice.

Jesus is the Living Word

And of him was the Word written,

Thus, all who believe in Jesus

Have their sins forgiven.

It is not ours first to reason

But ours first to believe,

Revelation precedes reasoning-

Reasoning does not reveal.

It matters not how brilliant

We cannot reason out God,

That Eve would become like God

Was created by King Fraud.

Her reasoning led to the Fall

And disinherited all mankind

But God in His mercy restored all-

A lamb was the first sign.

The Bible Stories [Part 1] – 3 of ppt video online download

A ram was caught in a thicket

And the young Isaac was spared,

To the Lamb on that rugged cross

Of whom the Gospel is shared.

Behold The Lamb of God | Living in The Spirit

The Gospel of eternal salvation

Revealed to every man,

To the world and the whosoever

Sums up redemption’s plan.

For God so loved the world!

What a revelation!

That He gave His Son, Jesus!

What wonderful salvation!

Truth Transcends Time

Truth will always be truth, regardless of how many realize or see. Only God knows and can reveal perfect… | Realization quotes, Prayer quotes, Inspirational quotes

If yesterday’s truth is today’s lie

Then truth must be relative,

Relative to what, I cannot say,

What answer can I give?

A little girl caught in a lie

Is required to tell the truth,

Such truth pertains to an incident:

On her is the burden of proof.

Did she do it or did she not?

Her response is one or the other,

One is the truth; the other is not;

Neither is a different matter.

Truth is not relative to a person-

Not the truth that is absolute,

Neither is it relative to time

As some are wont to dispute.

It is not determined by law

Or even established thereupon,

It is synonymous with the Word

 And also issues therefrom.

Is there such a thing as absolute truth / universal truth? | GotQuestions.org

Jesus is the absolute truth

Not the “who-done-it” kind,

He is the truth that changes not-

Nor affected by man or time.

Truth is therefore a person

Unlike the dictionary’s definition,

It’s the person of Jesus Christ

In whom we have salvation.

Synonymous with the Living Word

And the Written Word of Him,

It’s the truth that points us to Jesus

And that saves us from our sin.

Today when one hears the truth

It’s often about someone,

And depending on that someone

It could stand or be quickly gone.

If an important other says it

Then it has to be the truth

But if an opponent is the source

He’d better come with proof.

That’s not the truth that matters;

Not the truth that is set in eternity,

Know the truth, the Bible says

And this truth shall make you free.

Absolute Truth — Northside Church of Christ

If the Son shall set you free,

You shall be free indeed,

He is the only truth that matters

Pertaining to your eternal need.

This Same Jesus

Image result for images for Acts 1:11

He was a carpenter’s son
It’s written in the book
But he was far more than that
If you take more than just a look.

In the beginning was the Word
And the world was created by him,
This same Word gave up his life
To save mankind from sin.

It was not taken from him
As some may dare to believe
But he took on himself our death
That his life we may receive.

The fulfillment of the Law
And spoken of by the prophets
This same Jesus
Is the world’s most widely discussed topic.

Image result for images for the little town of Bethlehem
Born of the Virgin Mary
In the little spoken of town,
This same Jesus whom angels worship
For us gave up his heavenly crown.

He led a life of poverty
Though all the world was his
And relinquished all in his Father’s care
And not a single step did he miss.

From heaven’s palatial splendor
To a world in which he had no home
Came this same Jesus
To rescue his sheep that roam.

His life was a perfect walk
Though many his teachings balked
Yet no man spoke as Jesus talked
Even though the Pharisees had him stalked.

Image result for images of the River Jordan

Baptized in the muddy Jordan
By the Baptist we know as John
And right there in that same river
The world’s greatest ministry had dawned.

Next was his trek to the desert
By the devil to be tempted
For there is nothing that we face
From which he could have been exempted.

The devil would hit his hardest,
The three temptations were his best shots,
Over each Jesus was triumphant
Defeating all three of the devil’s plots.

He chose a motley group
The disciples he called his crew,
A selection that baffled the world
But in the end only one dropped through.

Image result for images of the wedding canaan of Galilee

His miracles could not be disputed
They were authentic to say the least,
The last would be his ascension
The first was at a wedding feast.

He walked on water and fed thousands
And some followed for the bread and fish
But those that feasted on his words
He exceeded their greatest wish.

His teachings were unparalleled
And he taught as one having authority,
Not as the Scribes and the Pharisees
That advocated insularity.

His parables were soul searching
Of the earth but heavenly defined
And though the disciples oft didn’t grasp
He would explain their ultimate design.

Image result for images of the Holy Scriptures

Not a single book has he written
But he is the greatest co-author ever,
Sixty-six books of the written word
That the Holy Spirit has pulled together.

His lifestyle was simplicity
He cared not for the things of this world
Yet he traversed it with humility
As he walked as the Living Word.

He resigned to his Father’s will
Though life’s path was rugged and steep
And identified with hurting people
When at a tomb he would weep.

The beasts of the field had holes
The birds of the air had their nests
But this same Jesus creator of everything
Owned no place for his head to rest.

He slept often in the wild
Where to his heavenly Father he prayed,
Not my will he had resigned
When he viewed that horrid day.

Image result for images of the Garden Of Gethsemane

In the garden of Gethsemane
His sweat seemed mingled with blood
As he mentally prepared himself
For the cross and our ultimate good.

The cross that beckoned from eternity
The cross on which his blood was spilt
The blood of the spotless Son of God
Shed to pardon us from sin and guilt.

A contemptuous miscarriage of justice
Fitted into Almighty God’s plan
As they sentenced him to crucifixion
The price for the redemption of man.

The creator crucified by his subjects
Their own lifeline they thought to sever
But glory hallelujah this same Jesus
Arose from the grave triumphant
And now is alive forever.

Image result for images of the second coming

He will come again for his own
Those whom the Father has promised him,
Those that call to him for salvation
Those that have been saved from sin.

This same Jesus, yes, this same Jesus
Once dead but now alive forever
Will come again he assures us
To gather his redeemed together.

Are you ready?  Are you ready?
Are you ready for that day to come?
Are you ready?  Are you ready?
Are you ready for the return of God’s Son?
