Gone

Funny Toilet Seat Down - Bathroom Cloakroom sign plaque

Father’s Day has gone

The amnesty is over,

To expect it all year round

Is like a four-leaf clover.

One in five thousand!

That’s a rare possibility

So, men get your act together

It’s back to normality.

Please aim straight!

Put down the toilet seat!

Move the shoes from the door

And mind how you speak.

Wet towel off the bed!

Expect the frequent nag

And since Father’s Day is gone

We’ve no right to brag.

Longest day for mothers

Is Father’s Day

But the shortest for fathers

Is that same day.

Father’s Day has gone

The amnesty has passed,

Back to normality for fathers-

Oh, it went so fast!

Twenty-four hours fly

When it is Father’s Day,

Now we know it will drag on

Till this time next year.

A caution to Fathers

And do take it seriously,

Be on your best behaviour

And live exemplarily.

Little eyes are watching

Ears hear what we say,

Make Father’s Day every day!

It’s the better way.

Father’s Day has gone

But family is still here,

So too is our responsibility

To give the best care.

Family First Revisited

As you read this poem
On this Fathers’ Day
Please do not be offended
In any kind of way.

I merely want to look
At how fathers came to be,
Through mothers was the way
Both you and I can see.

Let’s cease to separate them
On any given day,
They’re to thrive through one another
This is God’s special way.

So Fathers’ Day or Mothers’
They’re both to be celebrated
And so today on Fathers’ Day
Both should be commemorated.

And as we do so today
Let’s do so impartially,
On this special day today
Let’s celebrate them equally.

And as we do I remind you
It’s really about the family,
It’s family we are celebrating
Let’s do so thankfully.

Big up fathers! Big up mothers!
Big up family too!
And every opportunity you get
Propagate this view.

I remind us of the times
That we are living in,
Any redefinition of the family
Must be viewed as sin.

A father can’t be a mother
And a mother can’t be a father,
God instituted marriage
And this cannot be altered.

Let’s not confuse our children
With these conflicting roles,
Be like magnets that attract
They still use opposite poles.

Two north poles repel
Together they never cleave,
A man is to cleave to his wife
After his mother he leaves.

Through this simple process
Children come about,
Any other cohabitation
Will throw the family out.

They can cohabit all they like
Two fathers or two mothers
But after their ecstatic conclusion
They won’t produce another.

If we want to depopulate
This is a sure way to go
But that is certainly not God’s idea
Let us not go with that flow.

Let us arrest the deterioration
And put back family first:
Each one in his or her rightful role
And avoid this societal curse.

The rainbow depicted love
God’s love for the human race,
It was to Noah and his extended family
That God imparted His grace.

Let us all be militant
As we observe the oncoming foe,
Let’s reinforce our family ties
And resist the same sex flow.

Happy Fathers’ Day to all
Let the nuclear family thrive,
Same sex marriage is a misnomer
And really shouldn’t survive.

So on this Fathers’ Day
I will again trumpet the call
And like I did on Mothers’ Day
It’s Happy Fathers’ Day to all.

Happy Fathers’ Day to fathers
And to every mother too
And remember this is about family
And family is the biblical view.

Family First

As you read this poem this Mothers’ Day
Please do not be offended,
I would never put mothers down
So that’s not what I intended.

I implore us now to look again
At how mothers came to be,
Our focus especially on such days
Should be on the family.

I speak not only of Mothers’ Day
But Fathers’ Day as well,
Without one the other could not be
So it’s time we make them gel.

How wonderful it would be
If both these days families sit together
And as we celebrate the family
That would be so much better.

Of course in such a context
We could still single out the mothers
And when Fathers’ day comes around
Again we’d bring the family together.

When we make mothers sit together
And then proceed to celebrate
We could easily send a wrong signal
That says it’s all right to discriminate.

Big up fathers and big up mothers
And big up the entire family too,
With every opportunity that we get
We should propagate this view.

We live in interesting times
Where the family is being redefined
And the schools our children attend
Put strange things in their minds.

Image result for images for same sex families
“A father can be a mother
And a mother can be a father
And two of the same can live together
And that should not be a bother.”

But this could never be right
For the children would be confused
So by celebrating the authentic family
This notion can be diffused.

Through the procreation process
Fathers and mothers came about
So the encouragement of two of the same
Throws the family out.

They can cohabit all they like
I mean two fathers or two mothers
But at the end of their fervent trip
They wouldn’t produce another.

They need one another
The Creator designed it this way
And if ever two of the same produce a child
I tell you that would be the day.

Church, it’s time to set the trend
Put family first on both these days,
Celebrate fathers and mothers and children too
For this is the family way.

To put one up is to put one down
Big them up together,
It’ll take some gumption to move this way
But that’s the nature of trendsetters.

By our practice we’ve given ground
To some questionable ideas
And by our limp and token response
We’ve allowed some to have their way.

We need to arrest the deterioration
And put back the family first,
Fathers and mothers in their rightful place
Or for our society, “It’s goodnight nurse”.

So on this Mothers’ Day
I am trumpeting a clarion call
Let Mothers’ Day be Family Day
And so too Fathers’ Day and all.

The time has come to be militant
Notice the approach of the foe,
Strengthen the family ties that remain
Come on families let’s go!

Let every day be family day
Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day too
And raise our children as God demands
And perpetuate the biblical view.
