Ignorance and Consequence

Ignorance Is Not An Excuse —

Ignorance of the law

 Is no excuse,

The ignorant is as guilty

As those that refuse.

Some know the law

And some do not

But which ever violates it

Lands in the same spot.

There are laws of nature

That you and I both know,

They can be very good friends

Or your very worst foe.

Take the law of gravity

It helps us every day

But people who abuse it

Often have to pay.

Take the little toddler

That was left unattended,

While playing too near the edge

He was greatly offended.

He was ignorant of gravity

But gravity didn’t care,

The consequence of his ignorance

Was more that he could bear.

His cuts and bruises were many

After he slipped off the ledge,

How that parent regretted

Having left him near the edge!

Consequences are unforgiving

Even when we are ignorant,

“I did not know” never reverses

An unfavorable event.

It pays to be in the know

And not ever to assume

Or else you may have to stomach

The frequent “I told you so”.

“I did not know” is ignorance

Which consequence disregards,

“I told you so” follows

The actions of retards.

I Told You So

English 1 | Baamboozle

A spider

 Trapped in its own web

Is likely, my friend,

To be very dead.

However, a fly,

Trapped in a spider’s web

Is more than likely

The spider’s bread.

Constitution then republic

Was the way to go

But you ignored everybody

Since you alone know.

I told you so. - The Experiment

I told you so

And now it has occurred!

      You absolutely refused

To accept my word.

Republic then constitution

An unnecessary haste!

And given current events,

An obvious waste!

Do the oil change first

Then fix the engine!

“The cart before the horse”-

Our perennial problem!

I think I have an Oil Leak. Now What? - Cassels Garage

A waste of new oil!

I am sure you realize

Blood transfusions come

Before the patient dies.

Fix the constitution

And let it be your guide,

The other way around

Is not being wise.

What is now passed

Cannot ever be reversed

And what we have put second

Cannot now be put first.

And as slow learners

We repeat our mistakes

Hence, ad hoc amendments

For our choices’ sake.

Not bad choices

If I may say so

But I wish all was in place

To make an easy flow.

Fix the constitution

And let it be the guide,

Not the other way around

Like it’s being applied.

Changing the constitution

To institute a wish

Is like putting one’s food

And afterwards, the dish.

Analysis is needed,

A thorough one at that

 And picking here and there

Is kind of slack.

English 1 | Baamboozle

The web traps the fly

Once it intrudes

But a very dead spider

Is a fly’s food.

Not Over

Related image

October all over
Used to be,
Let us not argue
But wait and see.

Dorian came
And created a stir
But that’s the kind
I prefer.

Sorry, Grand Bahama
And Abaco,
Thankful the aid
Has begun to flow.

Lots of talk
Why we were spared
But I get this feeling
Our time is near.

May be October
Or November, maybe,
We can only wait
If we are to see.

Image result for images for be prepared

So be prepared
For we do not know,
Don’t let it be
An “I told you so”.

It is never over
Until it is really over,
Certainly not
Even in October.

Prevention, remember
Is better than cure
But I am sure
You knew this before.

I want ten verses
This will make nine,
That means
I am one behind.

This is verse ten
And this poem is over
But it is not so
In October.

Planning An Accident

Sounds a little funny?
I know
But oft times we hear
“I told you so”

Recall growing up?
Remember Mother’s word
Still you did
Something quite absurd

Remember her response
When in front her you went
“I told you so”
And away you were sent

You planned that accident
And even the scene
You knew it would happen
Even your scream

The floor was wet
And you thought to skate
“I told you so”
Now look at your state

It surely was an accident
But one you planned
It’s just unfortunate
That you involved the fan

The tree was wet
But you planned to climb
 “I told you so”
But I was out of my mind

Another planned accident
When advice you ignored
Now your foot is in a cast
And you’re looking quite bored

An accident waiting to happen
That’s an accident that threatens
At anytime and anyplace
Such an accident will happen

“Planning an accident”
It’s not funny anymore
Now you see why this title!
From the beginning
 “I told you so”
