Show me the evidence if you are a prophet
Since I have the Bible too,
I know it’s the acid test for any revelation
So, tell me, don’t you?
At the beginning of a year and also during
There is a slew of prophecies
And often I come to the gut-feeling conclusion
Someone is trying to hoodwink me.
The prophecies will carry no timeline
Other than they will occur that year
And despite the unenviable prophetic record
Many believers are gripped with fear.
Big names, both international and local,
That boast of their success rate
Make light of prophecies that never come true
Long after their nebulous date.
Yet, they demand respect for their prophecies
For happenstance, they might be right,
More often than not it’s a guess in the dark
But appears to some to be light.
The true prophets we read of in the Bible
Were one hundred percent accurate
For if they spoke when God had not spoken
Death was their inevitable fate.
There is no such occurrence these days
As far as I can see
Thus, the modern-day prophets do not fear
That prior inevitability.
God’s Word is our only revelatory truth,
All else is but a horror scope
And because we hear “thus saith the Lord”
Does not mean the Lord spoke.
Therefore, beware of modern-day prophets
And the prophecies they declare,
The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy chapter 18
Such prophets we must never fear.
I will tell you the prophecies that matter;
These are the ones in the Bible,
Most of them have passed with a few to come
And these are inevitable.
Modern day prophets have personal agendas
That they are intent to achieve,
Don’t jump on their roller coaster band wagon
And like many become deceived.
Prove what they say in the light of the Word
And let this be your guiding view
And hold unwaveringly to the counsel therein
Even if their prophecy comes true.
Show me your evidence if you are a prophet
And remember, I have the Bible too,
God’s Word is the acid test for any revelation
And I trust you hold to that view.
