Four positions re
salvation
Yes four positions I will
share,
You decide which category
you are in
It is important you are
clear.
If you’re saved and you
know it
Say Amen!
That chorus that we sing
Is the first position, my friend.
I am saved and I am sure
Is position number one,
That reminds me of another
chorus
Praise God, my sins are
gone!
It is wonderful to be sure
That God has saved your
soul,
It is truly wonderful, the
song says
Thank God, He made you
whole.
Some can remember the day,
Some can recall the hour
When they were saved
By the Holy Spirit’s
Power.
Position
number two
Was once a problem to me,
I found it difficult to
understand
And just as hard to see…
How a person could be
saved
And at first not know it…
Did that person not
receive
The witness of the Spirit?
Saved but not sure
Is position number two,
With time, I came to
understand
How that could be true.
That one met the
requirements
Though he was still
unsure,
However, with the proper teaching
He would soon come to know.
If one is led by his
feelings
He could be somewhat
misled
Especially on the stories
of others
That were once spiritually
dead.
Some speak of a warm
feeling
That ran right through
them,
When this doesn’t happen
to others
It can be a problem.
We are saved by believing
And not by the way we feel
So, for the saved and not
sure,
The Holy Spirit is their
seal.
That assurance will come
In the course of time,
Saved and eventually sure
Might be more apt for this
kind.
There is no halfway
salvation
One is either saved or not,
While regeneration is
instantaneous
Perfect understanding is
not our lot.
As regarding position three
All the saved were once
here,
They knew that they were
unsaved
But they did not remain
there.
The Spirit revealed to
them
About their trespasses and
sin,
About the shed blood of
Jesus Christ
And God drew them to him.
That is the success story
But it only relates to
some,
There are others unsaved
and know it
But they keep rejecting God’s
Son.
For them, time could run
out
And they could be eternally
lost
If they do not unload
their sin
At the foot of redemption’s
cross.
This one is the most
challenging
And you will soon see
That position number four
Could well be a Pharisee.
It could also refer to people
Who choose a different
way,
Perhaps the ones inclined
to adhere
To what a religious set
says.
Some trust in their own works
Rather than go the way of
the cross,
Some of these will cry,
Lord, Lord,
But still they will be
lost.
They will tell you they
are saved
And that they are
adamantly sure
But unlike position number one,
They are negatively
assured.
They follow men’s
traditions
Instead of adhering to
God’s Word
And of the two unsaved
positions
This one is the more
absurd.
Not only are they lost
But they are leading
others astray,
I present to you the
Pharisees!
Position number four is
their way.
Always sure but rarely
right
Is one way to describe them,
They can’t see the forest
for the trees
Now you see their problem.
Legalism and universalism
Are highlights of this
position,
Though these believe they
are saved
They fall far short of
salvation.
Four salvation positions
cited:
Two of them saved and two
lost,
Two bent on doing their
own thing
Two came by way of the
cross.
Four positions regarding
salvation
Now you know where you
are,
One and two are secure in
Jesus
Three and four are yet
afar.
