Once, kind o’ sure
Now not certain at all,
Whether one was ally or foe
Was easy to call.
Now ‘tis far different
And as far as I can see,
I cannot tell if allies or all lies;
Both are the same to me.
Yesterday our friends
But today they’re a foe,
With such stark inconsistency,
How am I to know?
Politics and tricks
Going hand in hand
Pretending once to be allies
But all lies on demand.
Whom can we trust
When neither friend nor foe?
Tell me if you have the answer,
I’d like to know.
All for themselves
Though a community,
Small fish in a colossal pond
But no unity.
Scattered and confused
By a supposed ally
Who is a big fish making sure
That we all comply.
Allies or all lies
I must reiterate
For I cannot tell the difference
Here of late.
But, perhaps you can
Being smarter than me
So, show me the difference
Expeditiously.
Once they were allies
Now they are all lies
Forcing many to believe them
To their demise.
Some with great clout
Most with little or none
And big fish, eating small fish,
Just for fun.
Or better yet
For whatever resource
Trying hard to intimidate them
By military force.
Allies or all lies?
The latter is clear
Unless one lives on planet mars
Away from here.
