Have
you considered bajans
How
they are always in a rush?
That
even when they are in a queue
They
still continue to push?
It
is like, whatever it is, is scarce
And
soon it will be gone,
Or,
like a hundred people
Waiting
to get the only one.
And
not only in a crowd
But
in gatherings of twos or threes
Unless
a bajan gets in first
That
bajan will not be pleased.
Case
in point, the bus...
Already
you see what I mean
But
for the sake of the non-bajan
I
will describe the scene.
Three
or four at the bus stop
And
an empty bus pulls up,
Watch
those bajans rush and push
Like
fourth place is out of luck.
I
often see it at a supermarket
A
popular one at that,
Just
about twelve people or so
So
I would always stay back.
As
soon as the door is opened
Bajans
begin to push,
Just
a few people there to go in
But
there is still a mini rush.
Either
they are not conscious
Or,
they have no basic shame
For
even the ones that come after
Push
against me like rain.
In
an effort to stem the virus
Physical
distancing has been employed
But
it matters not to bajans
For
rushing is their joy.
Once,
it used to be at Christmas
Now
it is all year round,
Be
it the supermarket or the bus
Rushing
is their stomping ground.
It
doesn’t matter if there’s danger
Pushing
is a bajan diet
And
even in the face COVID-19
They
still refuse to quit.
If
you are ever in a queue
And
you feel hot air on your neck,
It
is likely to be a bajan
And
it won’t matter if you fret.
This
physical distancing thing
For
the bajan is a joke,
To
use the word of a famous man
They
think the virus is a hoax.
For
still they push and they rush
To
grab items to protect themselves,
In
their quest to survive COVID-19
They
leave their brains on their shelves.
Please
stay away from crowds
As
a matter of fact, they should not be any,
So
please, my fellow bajans,
One
COVID death is too many.
