Harden not your heart
If you should hear His voice,
You are really fortunate
To be given such a choice.
I’m sure that you have heard
God’s voice at some time;
Perhaps a message you heard
Kept tugging at your mind.
It will not last forever
It will eventually wear off
And if you never hear it again
That would be an awful loss.
Can you begin to imagine
Not being able to hear God’s call
Having constantly ignored it
Having consistently stalled?
It is a privilege, my friend
To be able to hear God’s voice
And it is so much more so
When we make Him our choice.
For God’s Holy Spirit is faithful
And never ever leaves us,
For once we are born again
We are accepted through Jesus.
Do not delay or put off
The offer God has made to you,
Stop taking time for granted
If that is your current view.
For the future you can’t predict
And God’s voice may go away,
And who can tell if death may come
Before the end of this day?
So if you should hear His voice
Harden not you heart
For a heart that’s constantly hardened
Will one day hear, “Depart!”
