Mia, the One-Eyed King

 

 

All but she be blind,

None else can see

Barbados floundering in sargassum

In the briny sea.

 

In the land of the blind

She is the one-eyed king,

No wonder her brain-washed followers

Daily her praises sing.

 

Punching above her weight

Once applied to Bim

Now all roads lead to Mia Amor

Our female one-eyed king.

 

Naught but she can see

The reason for the tint,

She with her narrow one-eyed vision

Perceives a criminal link.

 

 

And like that Emperor

Who ventured to expose,

She daily exposes Bim’s nakedness

In her newly-styled clothes.

 

Give the police a chance

To see who is at the wheel

Of the get-away car being driven,

Is the PM’s appeal.

 

Be it in the day or night

Sight should be facilitated,

Remove or reduce the heavy tint

And crime will be negated.

 

 

The blind won’t ever see this

But a one-eyed king can

And surely, to my way of thinking,

This is Mia’s plan.

 

I can’t fault her for this

Seeing that I am also blind

And while I disagreed in the past

I must agree this time.

 

Which is better, pray tell

Between one-eyed or blind?

Even the blind will vote everyday

For the one-eyed kind.

 

 

 

A thorn in the eye

Not quite what Gabby sang,

Will at least leave that single eye

To see the snake’s fang.

 

Mia is not totally blind

But surely the rest of us are,

Like the support staff of her domain

None of us sees very far.

 

With such a loss of vision

Hopefully we would hear

But the propaganda wax in this canal

Makes us hearing impaired.

 

The tint that impairs seeing

And the wool over our eyes

Have surely blocked out the truths

We constantly deny.

 

It surely appears to me

Both one-eyed and the blind

Must accept the blame for our State

Being in such a bind.

 

 

Our sight has deteriorated

Thus, our reliance on one eye,

And that one eye is becoming dim

Though this we also deny.

 

The PM has lost her way,

With none to bring us back,

Though she has vision in a single eye

The others, total vision lack.

 

She is still the king

In this very blind land

Where a thorn can do nothing more

Than prick the PM’s hand.

His Word His Will His Way

 

 

Welcome to the New Year

It’s January 1^st, 2023,

I'm giving God thanks and praise

For life and prosperity.

 

For life and prosperity

Come from the hand of God

Even if it appears to be delivered

By Satan, aka King Fraud.

 

“A year of new beginnings”

And we say this every year

But new beginnings come to us

Each and every day.

 

And thus, our goal should be

A daily resolved review,

Not waiting for the New Year

To start all over anew.

 

His word, His will, His way

Constantly before our mind

Reflecting on all of life

In our God-given time.

 

Starting off with His word

For it is the manual of life

That will maximize our sojourn here

Be there peace or strife.

 

Learning of His will

As we study the manual, His word,

And regardless of men’s wisdom

With that manual concur.

 

 

That we may walk in His way

That leads to eternal life

And particularly so in this day

Where evil is onerously rife.

 

“Hath God said?” you’d recall

The words of that talking snake

And ever since that beginning

Evil lies in his wake.

 

And so, as we begin this year

Do not dwell on resolutions

But focus on the living word of God

To rid us of our delusions.

 

Delusions of grandeur, I say,

That obscure the will of God,

That make evil good and good evil

At home as well as abroad.

 

His word, His will, His way,

This is the order that’s correct

And the way the world demands,

We must stoutly reject.

 

We are not now gods

And never will we be

Though this is the mind of many

That through blind eyes see.

 

 

God’s word reveals His will

And His will points out the way,

It therefore behooves us one and all

To walk in His way this year.

 

Happy New Year to you

And thanks for your support,

God’s Word, God’s Will, God’s Way,

Is the law of Heaven’s court.

Yet Another Short Poem

A friend said to me he likes my poems

But they are kind o’ long

So here is another short one for him,

Third on a stretch and going strong.

I thought I should do the blind again

But changed my mind regarding that pursuit

Instead I have decided in this poem

To highlight the healing of a certain deaf-mute.

Somewhere near the Sea of Galilee

To Jesus was brought a certain man

Who could neither hear nor speak

But this did not thwart the Master’s plan.

The multitude requested just a touch

But Jesus determined otherwise,

Fingers in his ears and spittle on his tongue

He healed the man in the way described. 

A simple command as he looked to heaven,

It was just a single Aramaic word,

The English meaning of which is “be opened”

And this deaf and dumb man actually heard.

Straightway his ears were opened

And the string of his tongue was loosed,

His speech was clear and distinct

He was immediately rid of this abuse.

Mark chapter 7 gives the details,

There you can read it for yourself,

Find in God’s word the miracle you need,

It’s time you take that Bible off the shelf.
