Somethings we can’t make:
I will tell you a few
And if ever you prove me wrong
Congrats to you!
You can try all you like
But you will never succeed,
If you are doubting this now
By the end you’ll believe.
I will start with friends
They are a good place to start,
No doubt you have a few
That are dear to your heart.
We can’t make old friends
However, hard we try
This would take us forever
And by then we would die.
It is easy to make new friends
But hold on to the old,
A tried and true friendship
Is more precious than gold.
We can’t make an antique
Be it furniture or otherwise
And if you know anyone that can
He is a fool in disguise.
He can restore, maybe,
But he definitely can’t make,
This is my unswerving position
Which no one can shake.
We can’t make a first impression
On a second attempt,
This is like Good Friday coming
At the beginning of Lent.
Good Friday on Ash Wednesday!
Whoever heard of such?
And should such be a first
That would be just too much.
We can’t make time
Though sometimes pressed to do,
Time cannot be manufactured
Either by me or by you.
Make time to do this
And make time to do that!
Though the intent is good advice
It’s an absurdity, not a fact.
Such are some of the things
That we cannot make
But make the best of the time
Before it is too late.
We can make heaven
And election sure
By saying yes to Jesus...
Need I say more?
