I Forgive You

I forgive you

But don’t come again,

You and I both know

That was a crying shame.

I forgive you

But I would never forget

For even right now

I am still very vexed.

I forgive you

But I’ll keep you in my mind,

Just be advised my friend

It won’t be so the next time.

I forgive you

Only because it is you

But even in your case

This is not easy to do.

I forgive you 

But I really should not

Because what you did

Was nothing short of rot.

I forgive you

But I am terribly hurt,

I can’t believe you treated me

Like I was dirt.

I forgive you

But it will take a long time

For even right now

I’m not in that frame of mind.

I forgive you

But there’s one condition

Our relationship

Is just about done

I forgive you

But this is the last time,

Don’t come to me again

Even for a dime.

I forgive you

It’s what the church expects

But in my heart 

You are a total reject.

I forgive you

And I really mean that

But go your way

And don’t even look back.

I forgive you

But God knows I’m struggling,

What you did to me

I find quite disgusting.

I forgive you

But that love is gone,

I am just doing it

Because I want to move on.

I forgive you

Because God says I must,

Do it again

And you are bust.

I forgive you 

And I really do

But it will take a long time

Before I trust you.

I forgive you

“But get to stepping”,

Once you are around

I know I’ll be fretting.

None of these is forgiveness

I hope that you can see.

If God forgave us like this

Where would you and I be?

We would all be in hell

Where we deserve to be

If God forgave like us this

We’d be lost eternally.
