Let me first direct your attention
To the book of Psalms
So that by the end of this poem
There will be no qualms.
Concerning what I will say
About the human default,
If you miss out on heaven
That will be your fault.
In Psalms chapter 51 and verse 5
The human default is characterized:
“Shapen in iniquity and in sin”
Is how our conception is described.
In other words
We have come with a set programme,
This is our sinful nature
Which we inherit from Adam.
When our fore-parents fell
That was our fall too,
Though some deem it unfair
This is the biblical view.
Our natural tendency
Is a predisposition to doing wrong,
To evil we fall prey
Even when we feel we are strong.
Read through the Bible
And you will find this is so,
Even the stalwarts of the faith fell
The Bible clearly shows.
The creators of the computer
Also considered this:
This important detail
They could not afford to miss.
Hence the computer comes
With a default programme
And for it to behave differently
It has to be reprogrammed.
I am following this line
So that you see what is at stake:
“Unsaved” is our default
Hence our spiritual life is at stake.
Dead in trespasses and sins
According to Ephesians 2 verse 1:
That is the default of every human being
Ever since creation’s dawn.
An application is available
For everyone to download,
Though it is absolutely free
There is still an unlocked code.
It is found in the Word of God
At John chapter 3 verse 16
The greatest gift ever given to man
Compliments: God the Supreme.
Our design is perishable
Except we are reprogrammed:
A baptism into Christ is the need
And not passing an exam.
The Holy Spirit is the facilitator
To enable this download,
Only he can indwell us
And reprogramme our soul.
There are no on trial promotions
As in those Internet offers
But the Holy Spirit is given
So that your soul can prosper.
An incomparable manual
Comprising sixty-six books
Is available to guide along life’s way
With an enhanced and assured outlook.
The promise of eternal life
With complete assurance in the present
Through the indwelling Holy Spirit
That God the Father has sent.
A change of the human default:
That is what is required,
The renewed one must be downloaded
Before this life has expired.
Make use of this life application
That is on offer today,
Avoid that computer crash
And accept its programmer without delay.
