Christians in the Word

 

 

 

I know some beautiful people

They are referred to as Christians,

They believe God’s Holy Word

And they walk as His dear children.

They are different in their walk

And also varied in their talk,

Their Spirit-given gifts are diverse

And they have a Biblical thirst.

They have diverse talents too

But hold God’s word as true,

They differ in their ministries

But are of one Christian family.

 

These people live off the Word

Drawing from Jesus their Lord,

Nurture that enhances their life

To combat earth’s sin and strife.

They also live out the Word

Reflecting the light of the Lord,

Walking with the Shepherd, Jesus

Through whom they are the just.

Real Christians live by the word

Emulating Christ their Lord,

With what Jesus did as guide

In the Holy Spirit they abide.

They also live through the Word

Their life is the life of the Lord,

Imputed to them by God’s grace

Equipping them to run the race.

 

These saints live up the Word

As they lift praises to the Lord,

In worship, word and witness

Through trial, trouble or tests.

These people live in the Word

This beautiful book of the Lord,

Extracting from its sacred pages

Help throughout all life’s stages.

  

These saints live for the Word

In their service to the Lord,

Ministering to the lost and needy

With every God-given opportunity.

 

They also live beside the Word

Beside the still waters of the Lord,

Where no peril or fear can inhibit

The sweet refreshing of the Spirit.

While at different levels and stages

They are Saints no matter the ages,

Dependent on God’s Holy Word

And trust in Jesus Christ the Lord.
