Water Woes

 

 

Out of water again

The pipe is not running,

At least I can catch up to it

Even if I’m limping.

 

It’s becoming rare

To last an entire week,

Maybe I put my mouth on it

When like this I speak.

 

Scarcely a warning

Like water running slow,

One moment there was water

And the next a no show.

 

Summer is coming

And water is crucial,

Here’s wishing for a water tank

That is always full.

 

 

It is kind of expensive

To set up a tank, though,

If you are a pensioner like me

I am sure you know.

 

Yes, I need a tank

Given these water woes

But how I am going to get one,

Only God knows.

 

The tank, the pump

And the concrete platform,

Please tell me can I claim it

On my income tax form?

 

 

I really hope I can

Just like the solar system,

I really hope I can get somebody

To stop and listen.

 

To listen to my plight

And my weekly water woes

And how just sudden like that

The water goes.

 

The days are getting hot

And I like to cool down

But I cannot get a good shower

When no water is around.

 

 

Hear my plight BWA

And hearken to my cry,

If it be your will, please send me

A reliable water-supply.

Bits and Pieces

 

Make hay

While the sun shines

When it’s winter

That hay will be mine

 

One swallow

Doesn’t make a summer

Neither does one beat

Make drummer

 

A fall in autumn

Is nothing unusual

But the sprain requires

A doctor’s perusal

 

Wound too tightly

A spring may get stuck

Too long in coming

I don’t have a buck

 

 

An exact copy

Cannot be the same

Must at least be two

Or it’s just insane

 

A collusion delusion

That I received today

Must have been trumped up

I heard someone say

 

Of oranges and apples

Of peaches and prunes

It’s good to be regular

It is being well tuned

 

It’s particularly amazing

How words behave

They can paint you good

Or make you a knave

 

Take for example

The word impeach

It's so far different from

She’s a peach

 

Or the word gay

That has been stolen from us

Now an organization

And a whole lot of fuss

 

 

 

 

Gender use to mean

A boy or a girl

But when addressing children

Be careful to say “goys and birls”

 

Bald may be the bare facts

Or just a perfect head

Bald could be an eagle

That’s enough said

 

Enough of bits and pieces

Though I deserve more

Yet until largess comes

I won’t be sore
