Perfect People

Nothing Less Than Perfect Doesn't Exist

It is enormously difficult

To get along with perfect people

For such people as I see it

Aren't really normal.

You find them at workplaces

And also at church,

They have all the answers

And are general experts.

They head organizations

And they are also in schools

And they are extremely intolerant

Of perceived fools.

They put the world to right

In their ever-unending job

And they are the only heartbeat

Of every heart that throbs.

It is almost impossible

To get along with perfect people

For such people as I see it

Aren't really normal.

Nothing Less Than Perfect Doesn't Exist

They are never wrong

But conversely, always right,

The missteps of the imperfect

Are always in their sight.

They don’t miss a thing,

They are too perfect for this

And regarding heaven’s entrants,

They have the list.

For God does nothing

Unless He acquaints them,

They are like heavenly angels

Sent to this earth realm.

They are divinely informed

And so, they also inform,

And whatever they inform concerning

Is the perfect norm.

Nothing Less Than Perfect Doesn't Exist

It is an impossibility

To get along with perfect people

For such people as I see it

Aren't really normal.

There’re quite a few around

And their number is rising

And getting along with them

Is greatly increasing.

If you are one of these

Perfect people, I mean,

Give me a chance to measure up

To the level you deem.

Daily I am struggling

Just to live a normal life

Such that what perfect people demand

Is causing me strife.

Nothing Less Than Perfect Doesn't Exist

Whatever I do

Is less than perfect

And the criticism I continually get

Makes me want to quit.

So please, I beg you,

Do consider my frailty

For, living up to your perfection

Is an impossibility.

Tell me how you got there,

I know it wasn’t always so,

If you remember how you did it

Please, I’d like to know.
