“But by my Spirit,”
Says the Lord,
Not by might or by power
Of man’s wisdom or word.
These four words
That we so today ignore
Say to us most profoundly
Judgment is at our door.
On our doorstep
Though without our sight,
Our preference to be blind
Leaves us without light.
The Spirit that moved
Upon the waters of the deep
Is the self-same Spirit
By whom God speaks.
Today, as always,
And always will be,
Yes, my brother, my sister,
One of the Trinity.
It is Father and Son
And the Holy Spirit
And in all our babblings
We must never forget it.
As early as verse 2
Of Genesis chapter 1,
The Holy Spirit is introduced
At creation’s dawn.
And God said…
Right there are the three:
God, the Spirit and the Word:
The blessed Trinity.
One with the other
Always in agreement
In whatever they project
One hundred percent.
Nothing mythical
As some clerics suggest
Full of their own wisdom
Which is worst at best.
Their intellect as always
Leading them astray
From the Word of God
That points the way.
A confusion all theirs
Re mystical and mythical
Leading them to the morass
Of the irrational.
Like the playful kitten
Having fun with a ball of thread
Ending up unsuspectingly
Being it’s captive instead.
Captive of our thoughts,
Imprisoned in our minds
When we dare to leave
God’s Word behind.
The Spirit illumines
Having first inspired
But man, in his natural state,
Is not suitably wired…
To discern the Spirit
Unless enabled thereby
And hence, the Spirit he needs
Is the Spirit he denies.
So, it rationally follows
In the entangled mind of man
That God used a myth
To introduce His plan.
A theistic evolutionist
He would refer to himself
As he scholastically struts
With devilish stealth.
Not by might or power,
Or man’s wisdom or word
“But by my Spirit,”
Says the Lord.
