The atheist has a problem
And a huge one at that,
They argue rather flimsily
That God is not a fact.
A self-defeating argument
If ever there was one
Is like trying to disprove God
By wishing He were gone.
When times are harsh
And atheists are dissatisfied
They take a swing at the very God
That they try to deny.
If only they were right
That there was no God,
There would be no limit to vice
No accountability, no law.
If they have a conscience
Clearly it no longer works
For having grown tired of warning,
It has switched off alert.
And what of moral values
And of their origin?
Did they not at some time past
Have a concept of sin?
The atheist has a problem
And a huge one at that,
They argue rather flimsily
That God is not a fact.
Which God do they mean
That does not exist?
Can they point him out to me
And what it is I missed?
The order of the cosmos
The fine-tuned balance of life,
The structure of a single cell-
All at the throw of a dice?
Not even a possibility
When one examines DNA
And regarding man’s creativity
Atheism must fail.
And what of the emptiness
That only God can fill?
That void in the new atheist
Must be a bitter pill.
What will the atheist do
When it’s his turn to die?
Will he finally turn to his Creator
Or will he continue to deny?
