What is the point
That you are trying to make?
Make haste go ‘head and make it
For goodness sake!
You going all ‘round the bush
And you en say nuttin’ yet
And the rain comin’ down
And we are getting wet.
You were talking
For the last hour and half
And I so confused
I en know whether to cry or laugh.
The election is finished
The beating was sound
It’s time to get off
Your “merry go ‘round”.
There is much to be done
This en easy at all
Now all hands on deck
Answer the national call.
Every last one of us
Has to carry this load
Regardless of who is to blame
Getting out must be our goal.
If there has been corruption
The law must deal with it
When I checked the court news
That was the habit.
In the news everyday
People are before the courts
Mostly small people though
So we like we mekkin’ sport.
We need to send a strong signal
To the big people too
That they will be held accountable
For any crime that they do.
So time to stop the talk
All must be brought to justice
Whether they be small or big
None should be left off the list.
Forensic audit or investigation
Something has to be done
Justice must have its say
Once there is proof of corruption.
In the meantime
Let us get on with the task
Of raising Barbados up again
That is all I ask.
Wait! Why are you still talking?
Why this incessant buzz?
With this amount of rain
That is “bare soapsuds”.
Get off your soapbox
You are on slippery ground
But make sure of your footing
Before you step down.
