I went out reasonably early
And the streets are already rammed,
Oistins car park is no different
In there is also crammed.
Cars stuffed everywhere
Like sardines in a tin
And still a long line of cars coming
All trying to get in.
I had to check myself
To see if today was correct,
It surely looks like Christmas Eve
A little more than I expect.
I could well imagine
What tomorrow will be like,
Judging from Christmas Eve’s Eve
It will be out of sight.
Here’s a caution I wish to send:
There’s life after Christmas Day
And there’s an emptiness that comes
When the day passes away.
Please hold back something
To see you to month’s end,
You don’t want to bite your nails
Like you going ‘round the bend.
If you haven’t left home as yet
You may want to reconsider,
Just the thought of being in that rush
Is enough to make one shiver.
Yes, Christmas Eve’s Eve
Is now the new Christmas Eve,
If you haven’t left home yet
It is best you do not leave.
Wherever you intended to shop
There is no room for you,
So stay and move early tomorrow;
That would the best thing to do.
Christmas Eve’s Eve is rammed
And COVID-19 is still lurking
And personally, for me,
This Christmas rush is hurting.
I pray there is no fourth wave
Like the one we had last year,
Please adhere to all of the protocols
And ensure a mask you wear.
And you drivers on our streets
Look out for one another,
Don’t add an accident to your shopping list
For that’s an unwanted matter.
Be safe! Be blessed!
And be sure to bless another.
