The Origin of Thought

Image result for cartoon image for a thought
One day
Just like that
I got to thinking
And I wondered,
“Where did thought come from?”
Then I thought
Of a number of ideas
And I thought
I would examine some

Of course thought
Didn’t begin
With you or me
But it must have come
From something
From somewhere
From someone
Maybe even divinity

Then I thought
Of the two main ideas
So different
In so many ways

There is the evolutionist
He has an opinion
But then there is the Creationist
He respects God’s dominion

The first story
Started with nothing
And no one
And suddenly out of nothing
Came something
And the first dawn

Everything must have
A first cause
They are bold to say
But don’t
Appear to bother
When from that
They sway

Of course
I take note
That it says
“Everything”
Therefore I am pleased
To remind them
That God is not
A thing
But for the moment
Let’s play along
However one point lost
There goes the ping!

After that first
Big bang
It took many a year
For evolution
To occur
And more things to appear

Of course or off course
It still puzzles me
That to get something
Out of nothing
We just need time
Isn’t that tricky?

How much time?
Billions of years
Just give it time
And out of nothing
Something will appear

I still have a problem
As it relates to thought
How many years
Would this have taken?
How many years
Would they have sought?

Let’s leave
The inanimate
Let’s switch to life
Here the evolutionist
Encounters more strife

The primordial soup
The first sign of life
Cooked up
Before man even took a wife

Of what was it made?
That’s difficult to tell
Out of what did it come?
By now you know that well

Out of nothing
Comes something
Forget the first cause
It’s only
For the very beginning
That we put it on pause

Thereafter it’s clear
Anyone can see
That means you and me
And even a dummy

But you still have not addressed
The very first thought
And by now I sensed
You’re feeling distraught

Just like the student
Who takes a very hard test
And only writes his name
That being his best

Or maybe like Job
Taking God’s exam
Couldn’t give a single answer
Poor Job in a jam!

The origin of matter
The very first thought
The origin of life
A supreme intelligence wrought

This brings us to the crux of the matter
Time to leave behind the spurious chatter

God the Creator
Is the Originator
Of thought
He created heaven and earth
And into this world
Human life brought

It’s a human thing
You must have recognized
God is its first cause
That you need not despise

Let us make man
That was a thought expressed
Unlike all things created
This was a process

The others he spoke
And they came into being
Of the earth He made man
His hands did the forming

Then into man
Life God breathed
Therein the expression
Of God’s thought was revealed

Out of man
God formed his mate
With whom he could live
And his thoughts communicate

Which makes the more sense?
Tell me the truth
This evolution thing
Or the biblical proof

Out of God came everything
All things material
And human life
What a beautiful thought
When God gave Adam
Eve to wife

God created man
With the ability to think
Then He gave him instructions
Thus the first moral link

Satan came on the scene
Right there in Eden
And a contrasting thought
Cost them the garden

Satan got them to think
Different from what God instructed
Eve disobeyed God
And Adam obligated

No doubt they rued the day
When God they disobeyed
And wished that Satan’s thought
They had pushed away

Just a thought:

Proverbs 14:12  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 16:25  There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death

The fact it comes twice
Should definitely suffice
As adequate advice
That to obey God is better than sacrifice
