He’ll rent the sky as the Bible says
He could come at any time
Though the critics critique and the scoffers scorn
On this you can fix your mind.
In a flash the Bible says he will come
Like lightning across the sky
No time to prepare but lots of time to regret
Many will howl and will sigh.
“If only I had known,” many will say
“I would have prepared for this event.”
But God’s word they had spurned though they had known
Accepting was not their intent.
The excuses were many as the entreaty came
The distractions were quite a few
And procrastination was the order of the day
There was a bit of mockery too.
Who would believe this fairy tale
That God had come to earth,
Born in a stable, an animal trough for a cradle
And angels announcing his birth?
Born of a virgin! Whoever heard such a thing?
Doing miracles of all kinds and sorts
Walking around with a pathetic group of societal
misfits
Such miscreants were his cohort.
“Ha, ha, ha!”
They would have laughed
Such fables are for children
And that book that they call God’s infallible word
Is rubbish from beginning to ending.
But one day they’ll see their error
One day he will be here
And the incredible unbelievable, disputable will occur
And men’s hearts will fail them for fear.
Sometimes I question it too
And it seems hard to believe
But then I remember I must accept God by faith
And His assurance I receive.
One Day
He’ll rent the sky as the Bible says
He could come on any day
Though the critics critique and the scoffers scorn
He might even be on his way.
Do not be the one to lose out
Don’t follow that group of losers
Their leader is Satan, the devil, a.k.a. the fraud
He is the world’s chief abuser.
Loser turned abuser
From heaven he was thrown out
Now as prince of the power of the air he plots
How he can get you and me to doubt.
He wants as many to join him
In that place God has prepared for him
For hell was prepared for the devil and his angels
And them that repented not of their sin.
Christ is coming just like he said
And every eye will see him: both the living and the
dead
For God’s judgment beckons to every man
And in Hebrews
9:27-28 this can be read.
And as it is appointed unto men
once to die, but after this the judgment:
So Christ was once offered to
bear the sins of many; and unto them
that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
