Another Christmas Season,
Another Christmas rush,
Another time of merriment,
Another time of fuss.
Another time of singing
carols,
Another drama, another play,
Another time of decorations,
Right up to Christmas day.
Another time of frolicking
And having loads of fun,
Another time of cleaning
The corners all year shunned.
Another time of pleasantries
And goodwill to everyone,
Even the drunkard and the tramp
Get theirs before the day is
done.
Another time of wishing
Merry Christmas to one and
all,
Another trip to early
church
As we hear the church bells
call.
Another time for turkey
And another time for ham,
Another time for splurging
On jug-jug, chicken and lamb.
Yes it’s another time for
eating
All that’s within our sight,
Another chance for children
To get away with things not
right.
Another time to compromise
And have a special amnesty,
Another time to do as one
likes
Even bordering on dishonesty.
Another run of the mill
That builds up to a special
day,
Another missing of the mark
Yet sings of the babe on the
hay.
Hark! The herald Angels sing,
Away in a manger and such,
O come all ye faithful
But beyond the singing; not
much.
Another time of clichés:
All the best to you and yours,
Jesus the reason for the
season
As we visit from door to door.
Another time to do it again,
The swansong of every year!
Just before turning a new leaf
In an old book, terribly dog-eared.
Yes, another Christmas season
And another time of fuss;
But can you spare a little time
To grasp something most
precious?
Another opportunity comes,
Compliments of the Saviour,
Jesus,
Every man and woman, boy and
girl;
That invitation is to all of
us.
At this, another Christmas
tide
As you hear the Saviour’s
voice,
Let it not be just another
time,
This time make Him your
choice!
