Compatibility

 

 

Are they compatible?

I think not,

They are so unlike each other,

That’s what.

 

 

Opposite poles attract

I’m sure you’ve heard,

For as long as I can remember

That’s the word.

 

They’re not compatible

They are too unlike,

He for her and she for him

Is just not right.

 

Examine a puzzle,

Are any two pieces alike?

Yet when brought together

They fit aright.

 

 

That’s compatibility!

They fit together

And thus, complement each other

In the overall picture.

 

Same doesn’t do this

Though they might fit

But they do not hook each other

As is required to stick.

 

They easily fall apart

In the face of strife

Which comes sooner or later

In everyday life.

 

Alike is humdrum

Or we may say, boring,

Same thing all through the day

And each morning.

 

No surprises

But disappointment

And such predictability

Breeds discontent.

 

 

The two becoming one

That's compatibility:

They complement one another

Naturally.

 

Differences are great

Too alike is not,

Compatibility holds together

That’s what.
