The title of this poem
Is the reason for this poem
Bearing in mind that these days
We have a big problem.
For your information
Is simply to inform you
So that when you hear otherwise
You’ll know what to do.
For your information
Is for the uninformed
That spread misinformation
Like it is the norm.
Misinformation is error
Meaning it is inaccurate,
But to my way of thinking
It is not deliberate.
It is info taken for granted
And though not every time
Fact checking is a good thing
To keep in one’s mind.
Do not attempt to inform
Before checking your facts,
Misinformation is a wild fire
That leaves ugly tracks.
Do not plead ignorance
After the fact,
Note, words once made public,
Cannot be taken back.
Apologies do very little
At controlling hurt and pain
Even when we sincerely promise
Never to do it again.
But worse is disinformation
And this is agenda oriented,
Disinformation is not accidental
But perpetrated.
It is a deliberate attempt
To misinform
And I say, for your information,
It’s becoming the norm.
A synonym for disinformation
Must be propaganda
Seeing as I have stated before,
It comes with an agenda.
Whenever there is news
Information will be present,
Misinformation will be unfortunate
But disinformation, an intent.
Neither is desirable
So, make sure you get the facts,
I repeat for your information,
You can take neither back.
