Just a Regular Habit

How changing definitions of disease affects us all

Solve this puzzle

Figure this riddle

One is uncomfortable

It’s a real hassle

What is it?

A regular habit

Here’s a bit

And there’s a bit

In the muscles

And in the joints

Then in the bones

To make a point

It’s never tangible

So I cannot touch

I cannot see it

But I feel it so much

It’s all the time

Particularly with age

Respects no person

At any stage

A puzzle sometimes

As to source

But make no mistake

It’s a compelling force

It troubles the mind

And robs of sleep

You may doze

But nothing deep

Sometimes it’s masked

Sometimes deferred

Nothing one likes

Nothing to be desired

Medication helps

Only for a time

Soon it’s back

To mess with the mind

Babies have it

To the aged it’s habit

The youth a bit

To all it gives a fit

It’s a mechanism

In the system

But medication

Masks the problem

When it’s around

Something’s wrong

Affects the weak

As well as the strong

Robs of energy

Affects one’s health

Shows no respect

For those with wealth

The Science of Pain - Gastrointestinal Society

Affects the living

Never the dead

Troubles the foot

Annoys the head

Solve this puzzle

Figure this riddle

One is uncomfortable

It’s a real hassle

Spoils your features

Lines you face

Makes you squirm

With every pace

Can be excruciating

Sometimes dull

Recessive sometimes

But often full

Can be long lasting

Or for a season

Or apparently sometimes

For no reason

Some will argue

That cannot be

Something is wrong

If it finds you or me

What is it?

A regular habit

Here’s a bit

And there’s a bit

In the muscles

And in the joints

Then in the bones

To make a point

Something’s wrong

Have it checked

If you don’t

You may regret

Why is sin a big deal? It's important to understand! – The Coming King

It’s just like sin

It will nag and nag

Get to the source

Do not lag

Fix the symptom

Won’t fix the problem

There is a source

From which it stemmed

Fix the source

Will fix the symptom

Jesus is the answer

To the sin problem

Back to the start

What is it?

I am sure by now

You have a bit

For the answer

Search yourself

You will find it

No matter your health

Be patient

And you’ll get it

And you will see

It’s a regular habit

Solve this puzzle

Figure this riddle

One is uncomfortable

It’s a real hassle

If not now

Just wait a while

It’s never out of fashion

Or out of style

Our Phobias

We all have our fears
Some of them we make known
Some we fight
And some we refuse to own

Some when we were young
Some now we are old
Fears of this and that
But none when we are stone cold

Only the living fears death
The dead fears nothing
That is as far as we know
So in that we might be erring

A fear of roaches, a fear of ants
A fear of dogs and a fear of cats
A fear of flies, a fear of bugs
A fear of mice and a fear of rats

A fear of water, a fear of fire
A fear of death and a fear of heights
A fear of inside, a fear of outside
A fear of the dark and a fear of light

A fear of being wrong
And a fear of being right
A fear of the coming day
And a fear of the night

A fear of closed up places
A fear of the open expanse
Afraid to look out
And even afraid to glance

Afraid of the test results
Even afraid of the tests
Afraid that after all we have done
It won’t be our best

Afraid of forming relationships
Afraid they will be severed
Afraid of being alone
Afraid of coming together

A fear of the living
And a fear of the dead
A fear of remaining single
And afraid to be wed

A fear of the unknown
And a fear of the known
Afraid there will be bad news
And thus afraid of the phone

Afraid of being rich
And afraid to be broke
Afraid that one of these days
We will suffer a stroke

Afraid of every problem
Afraid of no problem at all
Afraid someone will visit
Afraid no one will call

Afraid our fears won’t leave
Afraid they will stay
Afraid one day they will take us
Afraid of that coming day

Afraid of fear itself
Afraid that fear exists
Afraid however thorough we are
Something we will miss

Afraid of the future
Afraid of its coming events
Afraid of biblical prophecy
And the biblical content

Afraid that evolution is wrong
And that the Bible might be right
Afraid of what that means
And the coming plight

Afraid of Jesus’ coming
Afraid of being left behind
Afraid of the pending eternity
Afraid at the present time

If the last four are your biggest fears
Do like Peter and simply shout,
“Lord, save me,”
And do it now before time runs out.

Our fears are life’s contrary winds
Upon which Peter took a glance
And looking away from the beckoning Saviour
His greatest fear was enhanced.
