What Is Sin?

What is Sin? — A Yoga Perspective | by Light of the Spirit | Thoughts And Ideas | Medium

My unsaved friend

Do you know what is sin?

Even with a moral compass

One is still dim.

One may be good

In the way he understands

But sin is not something

That happened to man.

Sin is a phenomenon

That brought on death;

Both spiritual and physical

And severed man’s rest.

Ye shall surely die

God did say said to Adam

So that when Adam disobeyed

It brought death to man.

A missing of the mark!

This was Adam’s sin

And Adam having disobeyed God

Separated God from him.

And the Lord God commanded the man saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat but of the tree of the know… | What really happened, Adam and eve,

A clear directive

Given by Almighty God,

First of all, Eve was deceived

And this triggered the fall.

Sin is a transgression

Or a missing of the mark

Which Almighty God established

From the very start.

Sin is clearly defined

1st John chapter 3 verse 4

Then go on to Mark chapter 12

And read some more.

There is a difference

Between sin and crime:

A crime contravenes a state’s law

But sin is contra Divine.

What Is the Greatest Commandment ...

Sin is a transgression

Of God’s perfect law

Hence, the ten commandments

Showed man his flaw.

Man could not appease

The Most Holy God

And this was clearly shown

From his initial fall.

What is Sin? — A Yoga Perspective | by Light of the Spirit | Thoughts And Ideas | Medium

Given a single directive

Adam miserably failed,

There in the garden of Eden

The enemy prevailed.

Mrs. Adam was deceived

While Mr. Adam succumbed

And just as God had indicated

Man was undone.

All have sinned

Meaning all in the earth,

Sin’s curse falls on everyone

Of a natural birth.

And the wages of sin

Is eternal death,

Eternally separated from God

And void of His rest.

But there remains a rest

For the people of God

Guaranteed by the second Adam

Who did not fall.

Believe on the Lord Jesus

And you will be saved,

This is the so-great salvation

Almighty God gave.

Having shed his blood

Only Jesus can forgive sin

And now he invites all and sundry

To come unto him.

Greatest Commandment Lesson Plan for ...

We must love Yahweh

With all of our heart,

With all our mind and strength-

This is where we start.

We must love others

Just as we love ourselves,

These two define the benchmark

Of spiritual health.

Sin occurs every time

That we miss this mark

Whether we sin in word or deed

Or in our heart.

It is only by the Holy Spirit

One can hit God’s mark,

It is His indwelling Holy Spirit

That transforms the heart.

The spirit of the law

Is what we must achieve;

The Holy Spirit helps us to do this

Once we believe.

The greatest sin is rejecting

The Lord Jesus Christ

For in so doing we make of no avail

His atoning sacrifice.

Salvation and Its Jargon 4

Image result for Romans 5:18

The world is under God’s “judgment”

Ever since “Adam’s fall”,

God’s “justice” does not excuse sin

Absolutely no sin at all.

Hence God’s judgment on sin

And on the entire world:

Remember sin is any “transgression”

As shown in God’s Holy Word.

But God demonstrated His mercy

When He sent Jesus, His Son

To break all of sin’s shackles

And bring us glorious “freedom”.

This speaks of our redemption

And our freedom from sin’s bondage,

Making Jesus our kinsman “Redeemer”

That relieved us of sin’s luggage.

In Christ we are set apart

This in fact is our “sanctification”:

It is the work of the Holy Spirit

That follows our “justification”.

In Christ we are made “righteous”

And set apart for God’s holy use,

It is “just as if I’d” never sin,

Satan has no grounds to accuse.

Let’s Get It Right

Image result for images for a tick

Sounds like a discussion
But there may not have been one
“Let us make Man”
Was before creation’s dawn.

Sounds like a conclusion
But that may not have been so
That’s how we would think
That the matter should go.

Sounds like a decision
And certainly a unanimous one
The first two were made
And from them all others were born.

That God is the Creator
Should be obvious to all
And that our parents’ transgression
Brought with it the fall.

“Let us make man”
To whom was God talking?
And concerning Adam and Eve
With whom were they walking?

You may want to argue
That God talked to Himself
But if such were the case
You would question his health.

There must have been somebody
That the “us” include
The Trinity is my position
That is what I conclude.

In the beginning was the Word
According to John chapter 1
In the beginning God
Created the very first dawn.

“Let there be light”
That’s what He said back then
Out of that first utterance
We have the where and the when.

So at the beginning of time
We have God and the Word
But there was another,
Yes, there was a third.

Who was that third person?
Okay, I will show him to you,
In order to find the answer
Just read Genesis 1 verse 2.

He was the Spirit of the Lord
Yes, a “he” and not an “it”,
The third person in the Trinity
That’s the Holy Spirit.

A truth we do not understand
But how else can we explain it?
These are three and yet the same
God, the Word and Holy Spirit.

He is the Spirit of truth
Just as Jesus had said,
Right there in John 14: 16 to 17
You'll see once you have read.

The world cannot receive him
Because it knows him not
But he indwells the believer
And cleans every spot.

For he dwells with you now
But he shall be in you then
Jesus had told his disciples
As they listened to him.

Another time he told them
That he must go away,
And to them he promised the Spirit
That came on Pentecost Day.

And since the Spirit has come
He guides us into all truth
Such that born again believers
Are the evidence and the proof.

The Spirit searches all things
Yea, the deep things of God,
None but him can discern them
Don’t be fooled by the Fraud.

Romans chapter 15 verse 30
Tells of his great love,
The love of the Spirit who like Jesus
Also descended from above.

Image result for images for the Holy Spirit

The Spirit can be vexed
As in Isaiah 63 and verse 10
And we should not grieve the Spirit
Knowing we are sealed by him.

The Holy Spirit speaks
And Scripture shows he can hear,
There are many verses in the word
With you I can share.

Acts 13:2 is certainly one
1Timothy 4:1 is surely another,
If you have ears then heed the Spirit
Revelation 2 is a timely reminder

The Spirit is a helper
He helps us in our weakness
He testifies of Jesus
And he fills with his sweetness.

The Spirit of God
Is the same Spirit of Christ,
Read John chapters 14 and 15
And this will suffice.

The Holy Spirit is a person
Just like God and the Word are,
Through him we were brought nigh
And now we are no longer afar.

He’s more than an active force
As some purport him to be,
He is in fact the third person
Found in the Trinity.

The Spirit is one with God
He is one with the Son
And it will boggle our mind
But these three are one.

Image result for images for Genesis 1:26

In the beginning he was there
Along with God and the Word,
In the Bible we read
They created the world.

These three are involved
In making a sinner whole
The Father, the Word by the Spirit
Indwells every believer’s soul.
