Must Be A Joke

Did Noah Warn People About the Flood? | Words of Truth

Ha, ha, ha,

He must be a joke

In the middle of nowhere

He builds a boat

How will he move it?

This massive boat

Without water

How will it float?

He mentions a flood

That is to come

Let us all taunt him

And have some fun

Seven people only

Were assisting Noah

So building the ark

Was quite slow

It was a long time

Before the flood

For the naysayers

This was good

One hundred years

And twenty more

Noah and family

Had to be sore

Bearing the brunt

Of everyone’s jokes

A warning he gave

Every time he spoke

A flood is coming

He preached to them

But not one convert

What a problem!

Did Noah Warn People About the Flood? | Words of Truth

Building a boat

And preaching too

Such a long time

Breeds a dim view

The more he preached

The less they heard

And building a boat

Was just absurd

A long time passes

After a long time

Something simple

Strikes the mind

Only animals respond

To Father Noah

Two by two

They begin to show

Noah and Evangelism –

Into the ark

These animals went

But the human beings

Refuse to repent

Still they laughed

At Father Noah

And they totally enjoyed

His free show

Ignoring the signs

The animals displayed

Must be a joke

So they say

“What is that?”

One of them asked

This time of course

No one laughed

“Water,” one said

And up they looked

  But by this time

The ark’s door was shut

Must be a joke

But the joke’s on them

Not one of them

Knew how to swim

Drowned they all did

Every single one

But for all in the ark

Came a new dawn

It was after the flood

When they disembarked

Noah and his family

Made a new start

Must be a joke

I am hearing you say

The joke will be on you

One of these days

Heed the call now

The bridegroom comes

He could be here

Before this day is done

Must be a joke

But you won’t laugh

If you don’t get in

Before time is past

Ha, ha, ha,

You’ll be the joke

In the middle of nowhere

Without a hope

Ye Do Err

Matthew 22:29 — Berea Project

Matthew 22:29

Jesus answered and said unto them,

Ye do err,

not knowing the scriptures,

nor the power of God.

Ye do err,

Not knowing the scriptures,

Your agenda in view

Blocks the true picture.

The Sadducees had said

There was no resurrection

And had tried to trap Jesus

With a difficult question.

They wanted to prove

What it was they believed

But they were the very ones

That had been deceived.

Matthew 22:29 — Berea Project

“Ye do err,” said Jesus,

“Not knowing the scriptures,”

And then proceeded to give them

The true picture.

A woman had seven husbands

Seven brothers they were,

Each of the predeceased left her

To the brother after.

“Whose wife shall she be?”

The Sadducees asked eagerly,

Hoping to trap the Master

With their perceived mystery.

“Ye do err,” said Jesus,

“Not knowing the scriptures,”

No marriage in the resurrection

End of the lecture.

My brother’s first wife died,

He is now on his second

But for either in the resurrection

There is no provision.

They will have a new name

And it will not be Russell,

There’s no need in the resurrection

For any such tussle.

.

I know the assurance given

Is that we will meet over there

But not as husband and wife,

Only one bridegroom appears.

The Church is his bride

And he is Head of his Church,

Consult the Holy Scriptures

And forget the experts.

Matthew 22:29 — Berea Project

“Ye do err,” said Jesus,

“Not knowing the scriptures,”

They were blind to the truth

Though they looked on its picture.

Pilate had the same problem

When he asked what is truth,

Before him stood Jesus

Its undeniable proof.

I am grateful for Lynette,

My adorable wife

But this union will end forever

When I leave this life.

I will enjoy all she offers me

For as long as we live

And with God being my helper

Give her what I can give.

At my graveside

I hope she will understand

I am no longer hers

But totally in God’s hand.

We have discussed together

That death will part us forever,

No husband and wife in eternity

But heaven to treasure.

Tidbits of Love

Image result for images for tidbits

He said he loved me
To him I said the same
Then we got married
And I took his name

She looked so stunning
She had to be mine
The courtship was short
She was mine in no time

I popped the question
And she said yes
I was over the moon
I had passed her test

The house was rented
But I didn’t care
Nothing so mattered
As long as he was there

She didn’t have a job
But she had a face
And a body to match
She was certainly a catch

We had to get married
And that we did
  He had no faults
And all mine I hid

The vows seemed long
And the ceremony too
I became impatient
And that impatience grew

Eventually I heard
You may kiss the bride
The moment I’d waited for
Had suddenly arrived

The reception was great
More guests than we invited
But all went well
And we were delighted

A few months went well
And then it occurred to me
She was not working
Hence, a drain on my money

Image result for images for feeling bored

I paid all the bills
And did so much more
And she merely complained
Of feeling bored

Well what do you expect?
I was in the house alone
And when I wanted to talk
He was never at home

He said it didn’t matter
I was not working
And he said so many times
When we were courting

She used to dress up
And we would party strong
But here of late
She says partying is wrong

While he was at work
I would prepare a nice recipe
So that when he got home
He could dine with me

But he was always late
And my effort was a waste
He would feign tiredness
And never take a taste

I worked long hours
So I could give her the best
So when I got home
I needed to have my rest

To cut a long story short
It couldn’t last on that course
So after our last quarrel
We decided on divorce

Courting days were so great
That we decided to marry
But we ran out of love’s tidbits
And the moon ran out of honey

Love’s tidbits were gone
And so was our marriage
She had lost her golden slipper
And I my golden carriage

All that’s left are memories
And tidbits of this and that
But the pure love we envisaged
Never became a fact
