Much Ado About Nothing

 

 

I have written at length

On the reality of nothing

Only to realize when nothing is used

There is something.

 

Nothing is something

That is not clearly defined

And oft leaves a lasting impression

On everyone’s mind.

 

Nothing’s in the pantry,

Nothing’s in her purse,

What is it that you have done?

Nothing is rehearsed.

 

Even the little child

When asked what he’d done

Would adamantly reply nothing

And then he’d run.

 

Nothing is something

We are often told

And many scientists do believe

It’s billions of years old.

 

As a matter of fact

You might have heard

That nothing created the world,

Though absurd.

 

In the beginning

Was absolutely nothing

And through the power of nothing

We have everything.

 

So, if you have nothing

You really have everything,

So, relax and just take it all in stride;

And in the meantime, sing.

 

What caused Big Bang?

It was nothing, of course,

Nothing is like nothing, you see,

When nothing’s the force.

 

 

Nothing is the cause

That caused everything,

And without nothing, I dare say,

Would be not a thing.

Replacing Jesus with nothing,

How can this be?

 

All things

Were made by nothing;

And without nothing was not anything made

 That was made.

 

Much ado about nothing

We have often stated

But never in reference at any time

To things created.

 

It blows my mind

And absolutely so

Regarding the absurd lengths

To which people go.

 

Failing to believe

In the omnipotent God,

They argue nothing is first cause;

Nothing created it all.

 

 

Genesis is a myth

And should not be believed

Whereas nothing is more credible

And should be received.

 

Why is there something

Rather than nothing?

Because of nothing, dear Watson,

Nothing’s everything.

 

Nothing, you see,

Is greater than God

So, who needs a fictional creator

When nothing is all? 

 

Nothing, you see,

Is greater than God:

This statement is true and false;

Please, no applause.

 

True for the creationist

And false for the atheist

Depending on where nothing comes

On either one’s list.

 

Nothing is greater

Than the Almighty God,

This most certainly must be true

Since God created all.

 

Nothing is greater

Than the Almighty God,

For the atheist this must be false

Since nothing is first cause.

 

Be content with nothing

For nothing is gain,

Power to all who have nothing

Has to be insane.

 

Be satisfied, I urge you,

With nothing from now

And you will be sure to get through,

I guarantee somehow.

Regarding getting through,

Falling would be a better expression;

What think you?
