Can you count the stars
Or the sands on the shore?
How long would this task take you
For you to be sure?
Have you ever had a meal
And called out for more?
Of all that this meal had entailed
Were you sure?
From whence came that meal
That delighted you so?
Did it drop out of thin air
As far as you know?

And that delightful meal
Did you not think of the cook?
Or did you think maybe the recipe
Was created by a book?
No doubt you gave up
Trying to count the stars
For whatever number you reached
They were more by far.
And the sand on the shore
A fingertip would be too much,
If your life had depended on it
You’d be out of luck.
Did the stars in the sky
And the sands on the shore
Just appear out of a big bang?
Of this are you sure?
The mountains and hills
The rivers and the lakes
All the oceans and all the seas
Did they themselves make?
And that delightful meal
Of which you partook,
Would you seriously consider
It was made by a book?
Nonsense you would say
If it were made by a book,
From the get-go you’d be inclined
To think of a cook.
Whatever has been made
Must have a maker,
Anything that has been innovated
Must have an innovator.
The heavens declare
They are God’s handywork,
And God’s greatest creation ever
He fashioned from dirt.
In His very own image
Almighty God created man
And to personally relate to him
Was always God’s plan.
Man’s ability to create
And his facility to organize
Is testimony of the Creator God
Of the earth and skies.
So, what say you?
I ask you once more,
Can you count the stars
Or the sands on the shore?
Are you among the elect
God has given to His Son
And that His Holy Word shows
Is in His kingdom?
What say you?
Have you answered His call
Understanding that only God’s Son
Can draw you to God?
If the heavens declare,
Should we not much more
Being far more valuable to God
Than stars or shores?
